TL;DR: A potential tool for solving one of the biggest problems of security of network resources in computer networks and suggests that the method may be implemented as an efficient solution for some DDoS attacks.
Abstract: This article presents a potential tool for solving one of the biggest problems of security of network resources in computer networks. This problem are the Distributed Denial of Service attacks, which are able to block the computer networks. The authors introduce the nature of the problem and subsequently present a tool which provides a possible solution to deal with it. The proposed methods have already been tested in the range of their impact on network resources. The results presented in this article suggest that the method may be implemented as an efficient solution for some DDoS attacks.

TL;DR: Many systems have to choose between user-friendly visual query editor and textual querying language with industrial strength in order to deal with big amount of complex data.
Abstract: Many systems have to choose between user-friendly visual query editor and textual querying language with industrial strength in order to deal with big amount of complex data. Some of them provide both ways of accessing data in a warehouse.

TL;DR: Final conclusions of the experiment indicate to superiority of methods based on Ant Colony Optimization, and in particular the superiority of OFNAnt method over heuristic methods.
Abstract: This paper describes the results of experiments concerning the optimization method called OFNAnt. As the benchmarks, the author used the set of files from TSPlib repository which includes well known samples of the travelling salesman problem. The innovation of the proposed method consists in implementation of Ordered Fuzzy Numbers to the decision-making process of individual ant agents. This also made it possible to correlate the colony development optimization with the trend. Previous implementations of the fuzzy logic to such meta heuristics like ant systems came down to fuzzy control over the decision-making process of an ant or fuzzy control of the pheromone release mechanism. Thanks to the proposed method, it was possible to expand the family of solutions with the solutions represented by ants moving outside the main circulation. The improvement was possible thanks to better stress that, according to the OFN arithmetic, was put on their participation in the process as compared to the conventional approach, as the direction of their movement has been opposed to the trend followed by majority of colonies. Final conclusions of the experiment indicate to superiority of methods based on Ant Colony Optimization, and in particular the superiority of OFNAnt method over heuristic methods.

TL;DR: Technology of high dimensional data features objective clustering based on the methods of complex systems inductive modeling is presented in the paper and method of criterial evaluation of complex data clustering results using two equal power data subsets is proposed.
Abstract: Technology of high dimensional data features objective clustering based on the methods of complex systems inductive modeling is presented in the paper. Architecture of the objective clustering inductive technology as a block diagram of step-by-step implementation of the objects clustering procedure was developed. Method of criterial evaluation of complex data clustering results using two equal power data subsets is proposed. Degree of clustering objectivity evaluates on the basis of complex use of internal and external criteria. Researches on the simulation results of the proposed technology based on the SOTA self-organizing clustering algorithm using the gene expression data obtained by DNA microarray analysis of patients with lung cancer GEOD-68571 Array Express database, the datasets “Compound” and “Aggregation” of the Computing School of the Eastern Finland University and the data “seeds” are presented.

TL;DR: In this paper, a parallel, real-time framework for fast hand shape classification is proposed, which combines the shape contexts with the appearance-based techniques to enhance the robustness of the algorithm and to increase the classification score.
Abstract: The problem of hand shape classification is challenging since a hand is characterized by a large number of degrees of freedom. Numerous shape descriptors have been proposed and applied over the years to estimate and classify hand poses in reasonable time. In this paper we discuss our parallel, real-time framework for fast hand shape classification. We show how the number of gallery images influences the classification accuracy and execution time of the algorithm. We present the speedup and efficiency analyses that prove the efficacy of the parallel implementation. Different methods can be used at each step of the proposed parallel framework. Here, we combine the shape contexts with the appearance-based techniques to enhance the robustness of the algorithm and to increase the classification score. An extensive experimental study proves the superiority of the proposed approach over existing state-of-the-art methods.
