TL;DR: This research performs body part tracking using depth camera to recover human joints body part information in 3D real world coordinate system and chooses exemplar-based sequential single-layered approach using Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) because of its robustness against variation in speed or style in performing action.
Abstract: Human action recognition is gaining interest from many computer vision researchers because of its wide variety of potential applications. For instance: surveillance, advanced human computer interaction, content-based video retrieval, or athletic performance analysis. In this research, we focus to recognize some human actions such as waving, punching, clapping, etc. We choose exemplar-based sequential single-layered approach using Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) because of its robustness against variation in speed or style in performing action. For improving recognition rate, we perform body part tracking using depth camera to recover human joints body part information in 3D real world coordinate system. We build our feature vector from joint orientation along time series that invariant to human body size. Dynamic Time Warping is then applied to the resulted feature vector. We examine our approach to recognize several actions and we confirm our method can work well with several experiments. Further experiment for benchmarking the result will be held in near future.

TL;DR: A new fruit recognition system has been proposed, which combines three features analysis methods: color-based, shape-based and size-based in order to increase accuracy of recognition.
Abstract: Several fruit recognition techniques are developed based upon color and shape attributes. However, different fruit images may have similar or identical color and shape values. Hence, using color features and shape features analysis methods are still not robust and effective enough to identify and distinguish fruits images. A new fruit recognition system has been proposed, which combines three features analysis methods: color-based, shape-based and size-based in order to increase accuracy of recognition. The proposed method classifies and recognizes fruit images based on obtained feature values by using nearest neighbours classification. Consequently, our system shows the fruit name and a short description to user. The proposed fruit recognition system analysis classifies and identifies fruits successfully up to 90% accuracy. This system also serves as a useful tool in a variety of fields such as education, image retrieval and plantation science.

TL;DR: This paper analyses and compares a few frameworks available, then suggests a few criteria needed both from game design and pedagogy points of view, to produce a framework in educational games design for higher education.
Abstract: Previous studies have found that educational games (EG) provide immersion, motivation, fun and high level of engagement. Studies also found that EG are able to teach 21st century skills. Thus, it is worth studying how this form of entertainment can be adapted into our teaching and learning strategies in order to develop our students' motivation and engagement, which is crucial in successful learning. However, designing and development of educational games with authentic learning content while maintaining the fun criteria can be challenging. Hence, a good design methodology and guideline is needed in assisting games development team to design an effective learning game. Our main attention is to produce a framework in educational games design for higher education. This paper analyses and compares a few frameworks available, then suggests a few criteria needed both from game design and pedagogy points of view. Hopefully it will shed some light in educational games design issues for higher education students.

TL;DR: In order to accomplish the intent to further develop halal sector in Malaysia, something need to be done to introduce a comprehensive and suitable tracking and tracing technology for sustain the integrity of halal product and to develop a proper technological framework that can support the entire supply chain of Halal product process.
Abstract: In order to accomplish the intent to further develop halal sector in Malaysia, something need to be done to introduce a comprehensive and suitable tracking and tracing technology for sustain the integrity of halal product and to develop a proper technological framework that can support the entire supply chain of halal product process. Tracking and tracing technology for Halal Supply Chain in Malaysia are given less attention. To overcome the halal product integrity issue, and in achieving the objective as halal hub country, Malaysia should setup alternative or solutions. Combinations of ICT technology and halal supply chain world by develop a technology that could be imply in the halal supply chain process framework could be one of the solutions. In information technology (IT) world, technologies suppose be the best formula to be added in to make the world more convenience and effective living by all kind of culture and religion. In introducing the radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to the Halal Supply Chain, there are several type of RFID in the market currently and which one should be identified to be use in this problem area. In fact, before putting the new technology that been discussed, modified original framework also should be count in too.

TL;DR: Information extraction technique is used to get the data of traffic, so that the traffic information can be presented in map view as a mobile application of Android.
Abstract: Traffic jam in Jakarta, Indonesia has become a crucial problem for the society. A Traffic Management Center has been built by the police, in this case Polda Metro Jaya to help people to get the latest information regarding traffic jam. Twitter has been used by TMC Polda Metro Jaya to spread the news of traffic. With its limitations, Twitter doesn't provide good user interface in the case of traffic condition. In this paper, information extraction technique is used to get the data of traffic, so that the traffic information can be presented in map view as a mobile application of Android. Natural Language Processing can be used to extract information from a tweet. A tweet will be tokenized, then each of the token will be assigned to a particular part-of-speech tag while analyzing the sentence by using rule based approach. Based on the rules, information of traffic can be extracted in the form of template which consist of time, origin, destination and condition. By using Google Map, the extracted information will be presented in 3 different colors for 3 different levels of traffic condition. Early experiment with limited vocabulary and rules has showed promising result.
