There emerge the issues on how the process of teaching and learning should be implemented in the way that ethical consideration becomes entirely a main concern to enhance the personality with admirable attitude. There has been lack of scholarly attention to elaborate the philosophical inquiry into the foundational stage especially referring to Muslim scholarly work. This research aims to investigate the philosophical inquiry of Al-Zarnuji’s ideas in his concept of Ta’lim al-Muta’allim. This work serves as a source of guidance for Islamic education because it presents fascinating theories on teaching and learning. Literature review was conducted to examine the conceptual framework to the contemporary perspective. The findings reveal ethical engagement which al-Zarnuji concerns refers to strengthening the process of learning and teaching. This becomes central to drive the process itself into the enhancement to the target supposed in the way that there is no separated form in the process of transfer both knowledge and value. read more read less

The concept of smart public governance (SPG) is gaining attention among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners around the world, especially in response to the modernisation of public administration through emerging technologies in both local (smart city) and national (smart government) levels. Spurred by the noticeable lack of understanding of the SPG concept, the paper aims to comprehensively examine the SPG research by considering the characteristic differences between the smart city and smart government concepts. Bibliometric analysis is based on the Scopus database, containing 775 documents published in the last two decades and facilitated by several established and innovative bibliometric approaches. The results reveal the growth of SPG research over time. Despite the smart city concept being the dominant focus in the SPG research, the smart government concept has been becoming more relevant in recent years, as indicated by some prominent documents published in reputable journals like Government Information Quarterly. Moreover, Anglo-Saxon countries are chiefly engaged in SPG research. However, New Zealand and South Korea are identified as countries with a stronger focus on the smart government concept. The results show the smart city concept is connected with several smart-related initiatives (e.g., smart transportation, smart living, smart energy, etc.), while the smart government concept is primarily associated with smart (de)regulation and smart grid. The findings may add to the understanding of the future development of SPG research, on both local and national levels. read more read less

Globalization and trade liberalization have changed to tremendous challenges and threat for Malaysian companies to strive in ASEAN. Quality is crucial aspect for companies to maintain and expanse their business in competitive market. Thus, many companies have implemented Total Quality Management (TQM) to improve their companies to the higher level of business performance. ASEAN countries have implemented Asean Free Trade Agreement (AFTA) by eliminating tariffs amongst the countries to ensure ASEAN to be more effective and efficient in terms cost. Nevertheless, AFTA is an advantage for multinational companies especially foreign companies because they have much resources such technology and technical capability. The study of AFTA as a moderator is less done in previous research. The main contribution of this study is to determine the effect of AFTA as a moderator. Based on 1500 surveys, final received response is 327 surveys which equal to 21.8% of response rate. However, 8 surveys have been excluded because of common method bias and missing value issue. The final usable question is 319 which equal to 21.3%. The result shows that AFTA has significant impact on relationship between TQM and business performance as moderator. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques were applied to determine the effect of AFTA as moderator on TQM performance model. read more read less
