The story behind building an editor specifically for research

The first time I wrote a research paper, I found how fragmented and inefficient the entire process was.

I had to use multiple plugins on my word processor for performing basic actions such as adding and citing references, creating mathematical expressions, etc. I spent a lot of time and effort in formatting the paper according to hundreds of instructions specified by the journal.

And I had to re-do the formatting from scratch every time I submitted my paper to a different journal! Collaborating with co-authors, tracking changes and version control was not easy either.

I started looking for a better editor for writing and collaborating on my research. When I could not find one, I started building Typeset not only for me but for the entire research community.
