TL;DR: The lepton kinetic energy ranges from 0.2 to 40 GeV for e − and from 3 GeV to 6 GeVs for e + were measured by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) during space shuttle flight STS-91 at altitudes near 380 km.

TL;DR: Interferometric observations at 1.3-millimeter wavelength are reported that spatially resolve the linearly polarized emission from the Galactic Center supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*.
Abstract: Near a black hole, differential rotation of a magnetized accretion disk is thought to produce an instability that amplifies weak magnetic fields, driving accretion and outflow. These magnetic fields would naturally give rise to the observed synchrotron emission in galaxy cores and to the formation of relativistic jets, but no observations to date have been able to resolve the expected horizon-scale magnetic-field structure. We report interferometric observations at 1.3-millimeter wavelength that spatially resolve the linearly polarized emission from the Galactic Center supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*. We have found evidence for partially ordered magnetic fields near the event horizon, on scales of ~6 Schwarzschild radii, and we have detected and localized the intrahour variability associated with these fields.

TL;DR: Melibiose, lactose, d-Galactose, alpha-methyl-d-galactopyranoside, N-acetylneuraminic acid, raffinose, and inulin were capable of inhibiting its hemagglutinating activity, with melibiose being the most potent.

TL;DR: It was concluded that the growth of rice seedlings was retarded by decaying rice residues in soil; thus, this appeared to be an autointoxication phenomenon.
Abstract: The aqueous extracts of decomposing rice residues in soil exhibited inhibition on the radicle growth of lettuce and rice seeds and the growth of rice seedlings The phytotoxicity was found in extracts obtained from the early stage of decomposition (first month), and gradually declined thereafter The inhibition was also found in extracts obtained from rice fields, and was persistent for 4 months The root initiation of hypocotyl cuttings of mungbeans was suppressed by extracts of decaying rice residues and extracts obtained from paddy soil Five phytotoxins,p-hydroxybenzoic,p-coumaric, vanillic, ferulic, ando-hydroxyphenylacetic acids, and several unknowns were found in the decomposing rice residues under waterlogged conditions At 25 ppm,o-hydroxyphenylacetic acid revealed significant inhibition on the radicle growth of rice and lettuce seeds and suppressed root initiation of mungbean seedlings It was concluded that the growth of rice seedlings was retarded by decaying rice residues in soil; thus, this appeared to be an autointoxication phenomenon
