30 Oct 1998TL;DR: In this paper, an improved probe for probing high speed, low impedance bus structures is presented, which consists of an AC termination portion and an RCR filter, and a capacitor is connected in parallel to the first resistor.
Abstract: An improved probe for probing high speed, low impedance bus structures. The probe comprises an AC termination portion and an RCR filter. In a first embodiment, the AC termination portion comprises a resistor and capacitor in series. The time constant formed by the AC termination portion is sufficiently larger than the time it takes a signal to travel through the cable of the probe. The RCR filter comprises two resistors in series disposed between the AC termination resistor and ground. A capacitor is connected in parallel to the first resistor in order to achieve a flat pulse response from DC through to high frequencies.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the impacts of SHs on humans in Chinese surface waters should not be ignored and that certain actions should be taken to decrease the levels ofSHs in source waters, especially measures targeting SHs in untreated wastewater from the vast rural areas.

22 Apr 1999TL;DR: In this article, a defibrillator having an energy storage capacitor network with multiple configurations selected according to patient impedance and desired energy level for delivery of an impedance-compensated defibrillation pulse is provided.
Abstract: A defibrillator having an energy storage capacitor network with multiple configurations selected according to patient impedance and desired energy level for delivery of an impedance-compensated defibrillation pulse is provided. The set of configurations may include series, parallel, and series/parallel combinations of energy storage capacitors within the energy storage capacitor network. The impedance-compensated defibrillation pulse may be delivered over an expanded range of energy levels while limiting the peak current to levels that are safe for the patient using configurations tailored for lower impedance patients and limiting the range of defibrillation pulse durations and providing adequate current levels for higher impedance patients. Configurations of the energy storage capacitor network may be readily added to extend the range of energy levels well above 200 joules.

03 Nov 1998TL;DR: In this paper, a real-time annotation system and methodology for annotating measurement waveforms in a signal measurement system that includes a graphical user interface for displaying waveforms and measurement results on the display is presented, which enables an operator to generate a graphical annotation label containing any desired data, and to graphically position the annotation label at any desired location on the measurement display.
Abstract: A real-time annotation system and methodology for annotating measurement waveforms in a signal measurement system that includes a graphical user interface for displaying waveforms and measurement results on a signal measurement system display. Generally, the annotation system enables an operator to generate a graphical annotation label containing any desired data, and to graphically position the annotation label at any desired location on the measurement display, enabling the operator to positionally associate the graphical annotation label with a desired waveform or waveform feature displayed on the graphical user interface. The annotation system is constructed and arranged to enable an operator to graphically generate an annotation label containing operator-generated information and to graphically alter the position of the annotation label such that the annotation label is positionally associated with a desired feature of a waveform displayed on the graphical user interface. The annotation label may be implemented as dialog box, window or other display region in the graphical environment provided by the graphical user interface.

TL;DR: In this paper, an aluminium filter approximately 100µm thick was proposed to remove the low-energy contaminant photons, which can significantly reduce the accuracy of the measured intensities, especially when Mo'kα radiation is used.
Abstract: In recent years, microsource sealed tubes in combination with multilayer optics have been adopted in many crystallography laboratories for very low power X-ray generation, monochromatization and high-brilliance microfocusing. All these factors allow high-performance experiments on a laboratory scale. However, a fundamental defect of this technology has been discovered, namely a significant contamination of the characteristic radiation by low-energy photons. Some simple experiments are reported, showing that the contamination can significantly reduce the accuracy of the measured intensities, especially when Mo Kα radiation is used. A simple and economic solution to the problem is proposed: an aluminium filter approximately 100 µm thick, which efficiently removes the low-energy contaminant photons.
