Abstract: This article documents the performance of the ATLAS muon identification and reconstruction using the first LHC dataset recorded at s√ = 13 TeV in 2015. Using a large sample of J/ψ→μμ and Z→μμ decays from 3.2 fb−1 of pp collision data, measurements of the reconstruction efficiency, as well as of the momentum scale and resolution, are presented and compared to Monte Carlo simulations. The reconstruction efficiency is measured to be close to 99% over most of the covered phase space (|η| 2.2, the pT resolution for muons from Z→μμ decays is 2.9% while the precision of the momentum scale for low-pT muons from J/ψ→μμ decays is about 0.2%.

Abstract: Thirty years have elapsed since the emergence of the classification of carbohydrate-active enzymes in sequence-based families that became the CAZy database over 20 years ago, freely available for browsing and download at www.cazy.org. In the era of large scale sequencing and high-throughput Biology, it is important to examine the position of this specialist database that is deeply rooted in human curation. The three primary tasks of the CAZy curators are (i) to maintain and update the family classification of this class of enzymes, (ii) to classify sequences newly released by GenBank and the Protein Data Bank and (iii) to capture and present functional information for each family. The CAZy website is updated once a month. Here we briefly summarize the increase in novel families and the annotations conducted during the last 8 years. We present several important changes that facilitate taxonomic navigation, and allow to download the entirety of the annotations. Most importantly we highlight the considerable amount of work that accompanies the analysis and report of biochemical data from the literature.

Abstract: We compute the leading order hadronic vacuum polarization (LO-HVP) contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $(g_\mu-2)$, using lattice QCD Calculations are performed with four flavors of 4-stout-improved staggered quarks, at physical quark masses and at six values of the lattice spacing down to 0064~fm All strong isospin breaking and electromagnetic effects are accounted for to leading order The infinite-volume limit is taken thanks to simulations performed in volumes of sizes up to 11~fm Our result for the LO-HVP contribution to $(g_\mu-2)$ has a total uncertainty of 08\% Compared to the result of the dispersive approach for this contribution, ours significantly reduces the tension between the standard model prediction for $(g_\mu-2)$ and its measurement

Abstract: Since the discovery of the transiting super-Earth CoRoT-7b, several investigations have yielded different results for the number and masses of planets present in the system, mainly owing to the star's high level of activity. We re-observed CoRoT-7 in 2012 January with both HARPS and CoRoT, so that we now have the benefit of simultaneous radial-velocity and photometric data. This allows us to use the off-transit variations in the star's light curve to estimate the radial-velocity variations induced by the suppression of convective blueshift and the flux blocked by starspots. To account for activity-related effects in the radial velocities which do not have a photometric signature, we also include an additional activity term in the radial-velocity model, which we treat as a Gaussian process with the same covariance properties (and hence the same frequency structure) as the light curve. Our model was incorporated into a Monte Carlo Markov Chain in order to make a precise determination of the orbits of CoRoT-7b and CoRoT-7c. We measure the masses of planets b and c to be 4.73 +/- 0.95 and 13.56 +/- 1.08 M-circle plus, respectively. The density of CoRoT-7b is (6.61 +/- 1.72)(R-p/1.58 R-circle plus)(-3) g cm(-3), which is compatible with a rocky composition. We search for evidence of an additional planet d, identified by previous authors with a period close to 9 d. We are not able to confirm the existence of a planet with this orbital period, which is close to the second harmonic of the stellar rotation at similar to 7.9 d. Using Bayesian model selection, we find that a model with two planets plus activity-induced variations is most favoured.
