TL;DR: In this article, photoluminescence has been observed from oxygen (O16) ions implanted into ZnTe with energies between 50 and 250 keV after annealing at 300-400°C in zinc vapor.
Abstract: Photoluminescence has been observed from oxygen (O16) ions implanted into ZnTe. Doses of 5 × 1013 oxygen ions/cm2 were implanted at room temperature with energies between 50 and 250 keV. After annealing at 300–400°C in zinc vapor, the characteristic photoluminescence spectrum from the oxygen isoelectronic trap was observed. Care was taken to ensure that the spectrum was a direct result of the implanted oxygen by studying unimplanted and neon‐implanted samples. The anticipated isotope shift was observed in the spectrum for samples implanted with O18.

TL;DR: In this article, a triode electron gun with positive control grid, with emitting cathode, and with acceleration anode, providing a concentration and emission of electrons directed along straight and parallel paths.
Abstract: Triode electron gun with positive control grid, with emitting cathode, and with acceleration anode, providing a concentration and emission of electrons directed along straight and parallel paths. Thus gun includes several elementary guns distributed around a single axis, the axes of the guns converging toward one and the same point on the axis situated at the entrance to an axial conical conduit drilled in the anode. The electrons produced in each elementary gun by an emitting pellet go through a concentrator and then through a conduit in alignment with the axis of each gun and perforated in a single thick grid. The invention can be applied in metallurgy for melting and heating.

TL;DR: In this paper, the coder and decoder of a terminal are placed in a closed loop excluded from the normal transmission lines during sync time and/or signalling time, during which a low frequency test signal is applied to the Coder and a comparison circuit.
Abstract: The coder and decoder of a terminal are placed in a closed loop excluded from the normal transmission lines during sync time and/or signalling time. During this time a low frequency test signal is applied to the coder and a comparison circuit. By gate means the output of the coder is directly coupled to the decoder of the same terminal. The output of the decoder is coupled to the comparison circuit. The comparison circuit will produce a fault indication when the difference between the two input signals applied thereto exceeds a predetermined amount. Continuous supervision over the whole range of the coder and decoder, without influencing the intelligence paths, is possible provided the waveform and frequency of the test signal is properly chosen.

TL;DR: In this article, the Stoner susceptibility enhancement factor for Pd:Ni and Pd-Ni alloys was shown to be proportional to S in accordance with the Soner expression for the susceptibili...
Abstract: According to theoretical predictions, the entropy of spin fluctuations in a paramagnetic metal with Stoner susceptibility enhancement factor S is (omitting numerical coefficients) ΔS/S0≃lnS+S3T2ln (T/Ts), where S0 is the entropy of the electrons without spin fluctuations and Ts=TFermi/S. The first term gives rise to an enhancement of the specific heat and the thermal expansion at absolute zero. The second term should cause a low‐temperature anomaly in both properties. The enhancement of the specific heat has been reported in NiRh and Pd:Ni alloys, and the NiRh system also shows low‐temperature specific‐heat anomalies. The thermal expansion α is more sensitive than the specific heat C to each of these contributions, approximately in the ratio Δα/α0/ΔCv/Cv0≃1/ γ0∂lnS/∂lnV, where γ0 is the electronic Gruneisen parameter without spin fluctuations. Our magnetostriction data for Pd:Ni and NiRh alloys determines ∂ lnS/∂ lnV, which is proportional to S in accordance with the Stoner expression for the susceptibili...

TL;DR: In this paper, a pulse-width discriminator providing a very steep discriminator characteristic is presented, where width modulated input pulses limited to a constant amplitude are rectified and applied to an RC time constant circuit prior to being applied to a transistor whose conduction is controlled by resultant linear sawtooth signals whose duration is equal to the duration of the input pulses.
Abstract: A pulse-width discriminator providing a very steep discriminator characteristic. The width modulated input pulses limited to a constant amplitude are rectified and applied to an RC time constant circuit prior to being applied to a transistor whose conduction is controlled by resultant linear sawtooth signals whose duration are equal to the duration of the input pulses. The time constant of the RC circuit, the bias potential applied to the RC circuit and the bias potential applied to the transistor, by means of a Zener diode coupled between the RC circuit and base of the transistor, are so selected that the transistor is blocked for pulse widths below timin, momentarily unblocked for pulse widths between timax and timin to pass pulses having amplitudes increasing linearly in the negative direction as the pulse width increases, and saturated for pulse width above timax to pass pulses having a negative going constant maximum amplitude. The discriminator output voltage is obtained by peak rectification of the pulses passed by the transistor. In another disclosed embodiment, the discriminator output voltage is passed through a low pass filter to provide the bias potential coupled to the RC circuit.
