TL;DR: In this article, two voltage-mode all-pass sections using a single third generation current conveyor (CCIII) are given. And a current-mode first-order all pass section requiring one capacitor and one resistor is also proposed.
Abstract: Two novel first order voltage-mode all-pass sections using a single third generation current conveyor (CCIII) are given. In addition the first circuit uses three resistors and one capacitor and the second circuit which is derived from the first circuit uses two resistors and one capacitor. A current-mode first order all-pass section requiring one capacitor and one resistor is also proposed. SPICE simulation results are incorporated to verify the theory.

TL;DR: In this paper, the photocatalyzed degradation of 1,2-diethyl phthalate (DEP) in aqueous suspensions of titanium dioxide has been investigated under a variety of conditions employing a pH-stat technique.
Abstract: The photocatalyzed degradation of 1,2-diethyl phthalate (DEP) in aqueous suspensions of titanium dioxide has been investigated under a variety of conditions employing a pH-stat technique. The degradation was studied by monitoring the change in substrate concentration employing HPLC analysis and by the decrease in the total organic carbon (TOC) content as a function of irradiation time. The depletion of DEP and TOC was studied under different conditions such as pH, catalyst concentration, substrate concentration, different types of TiO 2 as the photocatalyst and in the presence of several electron acceptors (H 2 O 2 , KBrO 3 and (NH 4 ) 2 S 2 O 8 ) in addition to molecular oxygen. Highest degradation rates were observed with Degussa P25 being the photocatalyst at pH 6, while with Sachtleben Hombikat UV 100 smaller decomposition rates were obtained. The degradation of DEP was found to be only slightly enhanced by the addition of electron acceptors, whereas the mineralization is markedly improved in the presence of bromate ions. The degradation products were analyzed by GC–MS technique and probable pathways for the formation of products are proposed.

TL;DR: All the phytohormones, except ABA, improved the vegetative growth and seed yield at harvest, compared with those sprayed with deionised water (control), and the order of response to various hormones was HBR > GA3 > IAA > KIN > control > ABA.
Abstract: The leaves of 30-d-old plants of Brassica juncea Czern & Coss cv. Varuna were sprayed with 10−6 M aqueous solutions of indole-3-yl-acetic acid (IAA), gibberellic acid (GA3), kinetin (KIN), and abscisic acid (ABA) or 10−8 M of 28-homobrassinolide (HBR). All the phytohormones, except ABA, improved the vegetative growth and seed yield at harvest, compared with those sprayed with deionised water (control). HBR was most prominent in its effect, generating 32, 30, 36, 70, 25, and 29 % higher values for dry mass, chlorophyll content, carbonic anhydrase (E.C. 4.2.1.1) activity, and net photosynthetic rate in 60-d-old plants, pods per plant, and seed yield at harvest, over the control, respectively. The order of response to various hormones was HBR > GA3 > IAA > KIN > control > ABA.

Abstract: In the present paper, we introduce the concept of η-cocoercivity of a map and develop some iterative schemes for finding the approximate solutions of mixed variational-like inequalities. We use the concept of η-cocoercivity to prove the convergence of the approximate solutions to the exact solution of mixed variational-like inequalities.

TL;DR: The clouding phenomenon with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in combination with tetra-n-butylammonium bromide (Bu4NBr) is reported and an unusual CP-decreasing effect of thio compounds is observed, which is discussed in terms of direct interaction of these compounds with anionic SDS micelles.
Abstract: Here we report the clouding phenomenon with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in combination with tetra-n-butylammonium bromide (Bu4NBr). Cloud point (CP) vs [Bu4NBr] curves are constructed for various fixed [SDS], and the minimum Bu4NBr concentrations required to produce CP are determined. A relationship between [SDS] and [Bu4NBr] is established that exists down to fairly low [SDS]. The presence of aromatic hydrocarbons (added up to their solubility limits) decreases the CP of a fixed SDS−Bu4NBr system. Furthermore, an increase in hydrophobicity of the aromatic hydrocarbon decreases the CP. An unusual CP-decreasing effect of thio compounds is observed, which is discussed in terms of direct interaction of these compounds with anionic SDS micelles.

TL;DR: The proposed spectrophotometric method has been applied successfully to the analysis of the bulk drug and its dosage forms and indicates no significant difference in accuracy and precision.
Abstract: A spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of amlodipine besylate in pure form and in pharmaceutical preparations. The method is based on the reaction of the primary amino group of the drug with ninhydrin in N,N'-dimethylformamide (DMF) medium producing a coloured complex which absorbs maximally at 595 nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range of 10-60 microg ml(-1) with RSD of 0.66% and molar absorptivity of 6.52 x 10(3) l mol(-1) cm(-1). All variables were studied in order to optimize the reaction conditions. The proposed method has been applied successfully to the analysis of the bulk drug and its dosage forms. No interference was observed from common pharmaceutical adjuvants. Statistical comparison of the results with the reference method shows excellent agreement and indicates no significant difference in accuracy and precision.

TL;DR: Seventy strains of Staphylococcus spp.
Abstract: Seventy strains of Staphylococcus spp. and Escherichia coli (35 each) were isolated from various foodstuffs and identified on the basis of cultural, morphological and biochemical characteristics and were further tested for their antibiotic susceptibility with commonly used antibiotics/drugs. 69.2% of the strains of Staphylococci were resistant to co-trimazine and 34.6% were resistant to penicillin-G. 19.2% of the staphylococcal isolates exhibited resistance to cloxacillin, nalidixic acid, methicillin and tetracycline whereas 15.3% of the staphylococcal isolates were resistant to amoxycillin and nitrofurantoin. The isolated E. coli strains exhibited sharp peaks of resistance to antimicrobial agents such as tetracycline (72%), doxycycline (60%) and nalidixic acid (48%). Forty-four percent of the E. coli strains were resistant to nitrofurantoin and penicillin-G respectively. Among the 13 antibiotics/drugs tested for resistance, six different resistance patterns were observed in staphylococcal isolates and seven different resistance patterns were observed in the E. coli isolates from various foodstuffs. Bacterial strains exhibiting MIC values ≥100 μg/ml for ampicillin and cloxacillin were screened for β-lactamase activity and out of 10 staphylococcal isolates, seven were found to be positive for β-lactamase, whereas out of 13 E. coli isolates tested for β-lactamase production, only three were found to be positive.

TL;DR: In this paper, the duality of implicit vector variational problems and the relationship between solutions of dual and primal problems are discussed. But the dualness of implicit variational inequalities is not studied.
Abstract: In this paper, we consider implicit vector variational problems which contain vector equilibrium problems and vector variational inequalities as special cases. The existence of solutions of implicit vector variational problems and vector equilibrium problems have been established. As a special case, we derive some existence results for a solution of vector variational inequalities. We also study the duality of implicit vector variational problems and discuss the relationship between solutions of dual and primal problems. Our results on duality contains known results in the literature as special cases. *This research was supported by the National Science Council of Taiwan and carried out during the stay of second author at Department of Applied Mathematics, National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

TL;DR: In this paper, 28-homobrassinolide (HBR) was used to pre-treat Triticum aestivum L. cv. Raj-3077 for 4, 8 and 12 hours.
Abstract: An experiment was conducted under controlled conditions, in which grains of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv. Raj-3077) were soaked in 0, 1, 3 and 5 µM aqueous solutions of 28-homobrassinolide (HBR) for 4, 8 and 12 hours. The seedlings raised from the grains pre-treated with HBR possessed significantly higher leaf number, fresh and dry weight·plant−1, nitrate reductase (NR,E.C. 1.6.6.1) and carbonic anhydrase (CA, E.C. 4.2.1.1) activities on 25 and 35 days, after sowing. The soaking of the grains in 3 µM concentration for 8 or 12 hours produced the most vigorous seedlings.
