TL;DR: Quantum chemical calculations and MD simulation showed a nearly parallel or flat disposition for Glu(12)-2-Glu( 12) molecules on the MS surface providing larger blocking area to prevent the metal surface from corrosion.
Abstract: The inhibitory behaviour of non-ionic sugar based N,N′-didodecyl-N,N′-digluconamideethylenediamine gemini surfactant, designated as Glu(12)-2-Glu(12) on mild steel (MS) corrosion in 3.5% NaCl at 30–60 °C was explored using weight loss, PDP, EIS and SEM/EDAX/AFM techniques. The compound inhibited the corrosion of mild steel in 3.5% NaCl and the extent of inhibition was dependent on concentration and temperature. The inhibiting action of Glu(12)-2-Glu(12) is synergistically enhanced on addition of potassium iodide (KI) at all concentrations and temperatures. The inhibiting formulation comprising of 2.5 × 10−3 mM of Glu(12)-2-Glu(12) and 10 mM of KI exhibits an inhibition efficiency of 96.9% at 60 °C. Quantum chemical calculations and MD simulation were applied to analyze the experimental data and elucidate the adsorption behaviour and inhibition mechanism of inhibitors. MD simulation showed a nearly parallel or flat disposition for Glu(12)-2-Glu(12) molecules on the MS surface providing larger blocking area to prevent the metal surface from corrosion.

TL;DR: In this paper, Pani/graphene (GR) nanocomposites thin films were prepared by mixing method in the presence of different amounts of nanoparticles and later, film casting was done using N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone as a solvent.
Abstract: Electrically conductive HCl doped polyaniline (Pani)/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and Pani/graphene (GR) nanocomposites thin films were prepared by mixing method in the presence of different amounts of nanoparticles. Later, film casting was done using N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone as a solvent. The formation of Pani/MWCNT and Pani/GR nanocomposites were characterized by Fourier Transform Infra-Red spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Due to poor dispersion of MWCNT in Pani, only Pani/GR nanocomposite films were studied for DC electrical conductivity retention in air by isothermal and cyclic techniques. The films of Pani/GR nanocomposites were observed to be thermally more stable under ambient environmental conditions than pure Pani film. Due to their better dispersion and high stability, such type of nanocomposites may find place as a replacement material for Pani and Pani/MWCNT.

TL;DR: Thirty‐eight patients with mammary gland tuberculosis were evaluated over a 5‐year period presenting to the surgical unit of the authors' institution, with fine‐needle aspiration cytology being the most reliable diagnostic modality.
Abstract: Thirty-eight patients with mammary gland tuberculosis were evaluated over a 5-year period presenting to the surgical unit of our institution. Unilateral involvement of the breast in a woman presenting at an average age of 29 years was the commonest observation. A lump in the breast with or without discharging sinuses was the most common clinical presentation. Ten (26%) of these patients had breast pain with or without increased breast nodularity. Axillary lymph nodal involvement was evident in 14 (36%) of our patients. Only five patients had associated pulmonary tuberculosis, the rest having an isolated involvement of the breast. Fine-needle aspiration cytology was the most reliable diagnostic modality. Medical therapy with antitubercular drugs ranging from 6 to 9 months was the mainstay of treatment. Surgical intervention was reserved for selected refractory cases.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on the measurement of two-pion correlation functions from pp collisions at root s = 900 GeV performed by the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.
Abstract: We report on the measurement of two-pion correlation functions from pp collisions at root s = 900 GeV performed by the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. Our analysis shows an increase of the Hanbury Brown-Twiss radius with increasing event multiplicity, in line with other measurements done in particle- and nuclear collisions. Conversely, the strong decrease of the radius with increasing transverse momentum, as observed at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and at Tevatron, is not manifest in our data.
