TL;DR: Plants grown with sufficient-N and treated with 200 μl l−1 ethephon exhibited optimal ethylene, the greatest stomatal conductance and photosynthesis, and growth, and made maximum use of available N and exhibited the highest nitrogen-use efficiency (NUE).
Abstract: In order to ascertain the stomatal and photosynthetic responses of mustard to ethylene under varying N availability, photosynthetic characteristics of mustard grown with optimal (80 mg N kg(-1) soil) or low (40 mg N kg(-1) soil) N were studied after the application of an ethylene-releasing compound, ethephon (2-chloroethyl phosphonic acid) at 40 days after sowing (DAS). The availability of N influenced ethylene evolution and affected stomatal conductance and photosynthesis. The effect of ethylene was smaller under deficient N where plants contained higher glucose (Glc) sensitivity, despite high ethylene evolution even in the absence of ethephon, potentially because the plants were less sensitive to ethylene per se. Ethephon application at each level of N increased ethylene and decreased Glc sensitivity, which increased photosynthesis via its effect on the photosynthetic machinery and effects on stomatal conductance. Plants grown with sufficient-N and treated with 200 μl l(-1) ethephon exhibited optimal ethylene, the greatest stomatal conductance and photosynthesis, and growth. These plants made maximum use of available N and exhibited the highest nitrogen-use efficiency (NUE).

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a relativistic model for quark stars under the framework of the MIT Bag model and showed that the model satisfies all the regularity conditions.
Abstract: We propose a relativistic model for strange quark stars within the framework of MIT Bag model. In our model, we assume that the highly compact strange stars are anisotropic in nature which is an expected feature in the ultra high density regime. We discuss various physical features of the model and show that the model satisfies all the regularity conditions. By estimating the value of the Bag constant for strange star candidates like 4U 1820-30, Her X-1 and SAX J 1808.4-3658, we show that a wire range of values of the Bag constant are possible for such stars though, in the case of 4U 1820-30, the estimated value of the Bag constant has been found to be very close to its currently acceptable range. Nevertheless, our results are in agreement with the recent CERN-SPS and RHIC data.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have analyzed the land use/land cover of North West of Delhi for the time period of 1972-2003 using high-resolution remote sensing data and a change detection model was applied in ERDAS Imagine.
Abstract: Land is one of the prime natural resources. A city grows not only by population but also by changes in spatial dimensions. Urban population growth and urban sprawl induced land use changes and land transformation. The land transformation is a natural process and cannot be stopped but it can be regulated. Many geographical changes at the urban periphery are associated with the transfer of land from rural to urban purpose. There is an urgent need for fast growing areas like Delhi, which can be easily done by high-resolution remote sensing data. Land use/land cover of North West of Delhi has been analyzed for the time period of 1972–2003. The remote sensing data used in study is Aster image of 2003 with a spatial resolution of 15 m and other data of 1972 Survey of India (SOI) toposheet at the scale of 1:50,000. Supervised digital classification using maximum likelihood classifier was applied for preparing land use/land cover. A change detection model was applied in ERDAS Imagine to find out the land use/land cover during 1972 to 2003. Eight land use classes was identified but main dominated classes were built up and agricultural land. A drastic change has been recorded during 30 years of time i. e. (1972-2003). In 1972, 92.06% of the land was under agricultural practice, which reduced to 64.71% in 2003. This shows 27.35% decrease in agricultural land in three decades. On the other hand built up area was 6.31% in 1972, which increased to 34% in 2003. One of the main cause of this land use change is the population growth due to the migration in the district from small cities and rural areas of Delhi.

TL;DR: In the 5% most central collisions, it is observed that the yield of associated charged particles with transverse momenta p(t)>3 GeV/c on the away side drops to about 60% of that observed in pp collisions, while on the near side a moderate enhancement of 20%-30% is found.
