Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The structure, histochemistry, and possible functional properties of the cuticle in two parasitic copepods Pennella elegans and Caligus savala Gnanamuthu have been studied: the former is partially embedded in the host while the latter is an ectoparasite capable of free swimming.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Histochemical tests and investigations showed that there is evidence of stabilization of the cuticle protein by formation of di- and trityrosine links as reported in the wing ligament cuticle of insects and elastic leg-hinge of the crayfish.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors made observations on the chemosynthetic microbial process of nitrification and found that during the oxidation of ammonia to nitrate, hydroxylamine was detected and it seemed to be an unstable intermediate compound in the first phase of marine nitrification.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the availability of the 2-out-of-n:F system was analyzed by identifying an imbedded Markov renewal process, assuming constant failure rate and general repair distribution.
Abstract: Assuming constant failure rate and general repair distribution, this paper treats the availability of the 2-out-of-n:F system by identifying an imbedded Markov renewal process.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Studies on the phyllosphere microflora of tapioca revealed that incidence of bacteria, fungi, and actinomycetes is indipendent of the variety, but dependent on the age, and the bacteria and fungi increased with increasing age of the leaf and were more on mature leaves, whereas no such difference was noticed in the occurrence of actinomics.

TL;DR: The cuticle covering the pleopods lacks epicuticle, but it has a simple protein positive to the biuret test, and also a protein containing sulphydryl groups, perhaps as an adaptation for providing respiratory exchanges of gases through cuticle.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the ternary system n-hexane-benzene-isopropanol was fitted through the Wilson and NRTL equations, and the binary data were tested for thermodynamic consistency by Herington''s test and were correlated through the Wasserstein test.
Abstract: Vapour-liquid equilibrium data at 760 mmHg pressure for the binary systems n-hexane-isopropanol and benzene-isopropanol, and the ternary system n-hexane-benzene-isopropanol, are presented. The binary data were tested for thermodynamic consistency by Herington''s test and were correlated through the Wilson and NRTL equations. The ternary data were also fitted through the Wilson and NRTL equations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the cumulative damage process due to the occurrence of shocks is considered and the life distribution of the device is obtained, when the worker is not alert or the devices is weak.
Abstract: A device which is exposed to the cumulative damage process due to the occurrence of shocks is considered. The life distribution of the device is obtained here. Damages occur to the device when the worker is not alert or the device is weak. Known results in counter theory are used to obtain results.

TL;DR: The reliability of a 2-out-of-k: F System with spares is studied for the case in which the time to exchange the failed unit by a spare unit has a general distribution.

TL;DR: The clinoamphibole of Oddanchatram is known to be a magnesio-hastingsite as mentioned in this paper, and it is suggested that the mineral is of primary origin and precipitated early from a hydrous gabbroic anorthosite magma that gave rise to the anorthosites of the area.
Abstract: The characteristic mafic constituent of the anorthosites of Oddanchatram is clinoamphibole. The chemical composition, optical properties and cell parameters indicate it to be magnesio-hastingsite. It is suggested that the mineral is of primary origin and precipitated early from a hydrous gabbroic anorthosite magma that gave rise to the anorthositic suite of rocks of the area.
