TL;DR: The potentiometric titration method was used to measure pKa values of nine amines (2-diisopropylamino)ethanol [2-DIPA], N,N,N′,N-tetrakis(2-hydroxypropyl)ethylenediamine [THPEDA], 2-{[2-(dimethylamino), ethyl]methyl amino amino} ethanol [2DMAEMAE], tris[2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl]amine [TMEEA], n-(
Abstract: The potentiometric titration method was used to measure pKa values of nine amines [2-(diisopropylamino)ethanol [2-DIPA], N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(2-hydroxypropyl)ethylenediamine [THPEDA], 2-{[2-(dimethylamino) ethyl]methyl amino} ethanol [2-DMAEMAE], tris[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl]amine [TMEEA], N-(2-hydroxyethyl) aniline [2-HEAN], 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine [HEP], piperazine [PZ], monoethanolamine [MEA], and N-methyldiethanolamine [MDEA] at (298.15, 303.15, 313.15, 323.15, and 333.15) K. pKa values of the last three amines were compared with published data to validate the procedure and assess the accuracy of the instrument. Thermodynamic quantities, such as standard enthalpy (ΔH°·kJ–1·mol–1) and entropy (ΔSo·kJ–1·mol–1) for the dissociation process, were determined at 298.15 K using the van’t Hoff equation. From the experimental results, the values of the standard state thermodynamic properties were derived and compared to the values of commercially available amines used as absorbents for CO2 capture. Among t...

TL;DR: The results suggest that most used soft computing techniques can work well with good accuracy for the problem of effort estimation based on UCP, and the general regression neural network is the superior one with stable ranking across different accuracy measures.
Abstract: The size of a software project is a key measure of predicting software effort at the requirements and analysis phase. Use case points (UCP) is among software size metrics that achieved good reputation because of the increasing popularity of use case driven development methodologies in software industry. Nevertheless, there is no consistent method that can effectively translate the UCP into its corresponding effort. Previous estimation models were built using a very limited number of projects, and they were not well examined. The soft computing techniques were rarely applied for such problem and their performances have not been well investigated using a systematic procedure. This study looks into the accuracy and stability of some soft computing methods for the problem of effort estimation based on UCP. Four neural network methods, adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system and support vector regression have been used in this comparative study. The results suggest that most used soft computing techniques can work well with good accuracy for such problem. Among them, the general regression neural network is the superior one with stable ranking across different accuracy measures. Also, it has been found that using adjustment variables with basic UCP variables, solely or together, have positive impact on the accuracy and stability.

TL;DR: A unique synthesis was developed to immobilize Pd nanoparticles on pristine graphene (PG) sheets via a facile supercritical carbon dioxide route, providing large electrochemically active surface areas (ECSA) for both direct formic acidfuel cell (DFAFC) and methanol fuel cell (DMFC).
Abstract: A unique synthesis was developed to immobilize Pd nanoparticles on pristine graphene (PG) sheets via a facile supercritical carbon dioxide route. Pristine graphene was obtained by sonication-assisted exfoliation of graphite in an organic solvent. Finely dispersed worm-like Pd nanoparticles are homogeneously deposited on the hydrophobic graphene surfaces. The combination of pristine graphene sheets and well-dispersed Pd nanoparticles provided large electrochemically active surface areas (ECSA) for both direct formic acid fuel cell (DFAFC) and methanol fuel cell (DMFC). The ECSA values are more than twice as large as those of reduced graphene oxide and carbon nanotube based counterparts or six times those of conventional XC-72 carbon black. Significant enhancements were also observed in the electrocatalytic activity and stability measurements. The excellent electrochemical property of Pd/PG is attributable to the well-preserved graphene structure that ensures electrical conductivity and stability of the com...
