TL;DR: A powder neutron diffraction study has been made on the intermetallic compound, FeSi as mentioned in this paper, which has been shown to be antiferromagnetic below 170°C.
Abstract: A powder neutron diffraction study has been made on the intermetallic compound, FeSi. From magnetic measurements this substance has been believed to be antiferromagnetic below 170°C. Neutron diffraction measurements at room temperature and at liquid nitrogen temperature, however, show no coherent antiferromagnetic intensity, thus ruling out any long range magnetic order. Some results of magnetic measurements and discussion are presented.

TL;DR: The results for the saline groundwaters are consistent with thermodynamic and kinetic models that demonstrate the relatively rapid dissolution of plagioclase with respect to other rock-forming silicates, and should have application to most brines located in silicate host rocks.
Abstract: The Eye-Dashwa Lakes pluton is a Sr-rich felsic intrusive of the sanukitoid suite located in NW Ontario in the Superior Province of the Canadian Shield. The 87Sr/86Sr values of the CaNaCl-type saline, deeper groundwaters fall in the narrow range of 0.7057–0.7070, similar to the 87Sr/86Sr value in plagioclase but not to that in K-feldspar, biotite, or the whole rock. This suggests that the water isotopic composition is the result of plagioclase-water interaction. The fracture minerals gypsum and calcite have similar 87Sr/86Sr ratios, indicating that they have crystallized from waters similar to the present deep groundwaters. The shallow, CaHCO3-type, dilute groundwaters show a wider spread in the Sr ratio of 0.7065–0.7278, reflecting their derivation from minerals in the overlying soil. The results for the saline groundwaters are consistent with thermodynamic and kinetic models that demonstrate the relatively rapid dissolution of plagioclase with respect to other rock-forming silicates, and should have application to most brines located in silicate host rocks.

TL;DR: A nucleoside triphosphate phosphohydrolase activity has been discovered in reovirus virions, with evidence that this activity is an integral part of the virion core.
Abstract: A nucleoside triphosphate phosphohydrolase activity has been discovered in reovirus virions. This activity converts nucleoside triphosphates to nucleoside diphosphates in vitro. Properties of this enzyme are presented, with evidence that this activity is an integral part of the virion core.

TL;DR: Flammability limits of hydrogen-oxygen-diluent mixtures were determined in a 5-cm diameter, 1.8m long tube, for upward, downward and horizontal prop agation of the flame as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: Flammability limits of hydrogen-oxygen-diluent mixtures were determined in a 5-cm diameter, 1.8-m long tube, for upward, downward and horizontal prop agation of the flame. It was found that for fuel-lean mixtures, upward limits were nearly independent of the diluent type and concentration; downward limits showed a slight dependence on diluent type and concentration. Limits for fuel- rich mixtures were independent of the direction of propagation of the flame. In all cases, to a good approximation, horizontal limits lay midway between the upward and downward limits. It was also found that limits for fuel-rich mixtures were dependent on the oxygen volume fraction. Empirical correlations are presented to estimate the limits.
