TL;DR: In this paper, a review of recent studies conducted in the field, with a focus on the anode/electrolyte solutions side, is presented, focusing on the structure of electrolyte solutions relevant to rechargeable Mg batteries and its effect on the electrochemical performance.

TL;DR: In this article, the correlation between Li-cycling efficiency, morphology, interfacial properties and surface chemistry in a variety of Li battery electrolyte solutions is reviewed, and the principal points are: (i) the surface chemistry of Li is determined by a delicate balance between reduction processes of the solvents, salts and common contaminants; (ii) surface films initially formed are subjected to ageing processes which gradually change their structure and properties; (iii) the heterogeneous chemical structure of the Li electrode's surface films induces non-uniform Li deposition; (iv) the cycling

TL;DR: This paper reported results of two sequential and interrelated studies that examined the efficacy of combining two models of reading strategy instruction (reciprocal teaching and direct explanation) for high school students.
Abstract: The author reported results of 2 sequential and interrelated studies that examined the efficacy of combining 2 models of reading strategy instruction—reciprocal teaching and direct explanation. The studies were implemented in a high school in the Midwest. The literature documents that even mainstream high school students have serious deficits in higher order cognitive skills necessary for comprehension. Yet, few studies focus on secondary students, and almost none relate to high school students identified as proficient learners. The reported studies were designed to determine the effectiveness of combined strategy instruction incorporated into the school curricula in promoting strategic reading while fostering students' ability to perform reading comprehension tasks that require high levels of knowledge construction. Findings in this article suggest that combined strategy instruction may be beneficial in providing students with tools that will enable them to apply higher order cognitive processes while th...

TL;DR: This work studies a system composed of an interdependent world wide port network and a world wide airport network and shows that well- connected ports tend to couple with well-connected airports, and introduces two quantities for measuring the level of inter-similarity.
Abstract: Recent studies have shown that a system composed from several randomly interdependent networks is extremely vulnerable to random failure. However, real interdependent networks are usually not randomly interdependent, rather a pair of dependent nodes are coupled according to some regularity which we coin inter-similarity. For example, we study a system composed from an interdependent world wide port network and a world wide airport network and show that well connected ports tend to couple with well connected airports. We introduce two quantities for measuring the level of inter-similarity between networks (i) Inter degree-degree correlation (IDDC) (ii) Inter-clustering coefficient (ICC). We then show both by simulation models and by analyzing the port-airport system that as the networks become more inter-similar the system becomes significantly more robust to random failure.

TL;DR: This study shows how the dimension of a broad class of networks can be ascertained, and demonstrates that it determines the basic properties of the networks.
Abstract: Many properties of physical systems are known to depend on their dimension. But for complex networks—which serve to model a wide range of physical, technological and social systems—the concept of dimension has received relatively little attention so far. This study shows how the dimension of a broad class of networks can be ascertained, and demonstrates that it determines the basic properties of the networks.
