TL;DR: Chilling at -5°C for 35 and 70 days, temperature at 20° to 25°C pH 6.0 to 7.5, humidity 80 to 100% were found favourable in the basidiospore germination and increase of moisture stress beyond -2.5 bar was found inhibitory.
Abstract: Pholiota destruens produces enormous number of basidiospores. Freshly formed basidiospores exhibit dormancy and fail to germinate. Studies were carried out using different physical factors viz., chilling, hydrogen ion concentration, temperature, humidity and moisture stress in order to obtain information about the germination of basidiospores. Chilling at -5°C for 35 and 70 days, temperature at 20° to 25°C pH 6.0 to 7.5, humidity 80 to 100% were found favourable in the basidiospore germination. Increase of moisture stress beyond -2.5 bar was found inhibitory.

TL;DR: The chemical analysis of soil and plant samples collected from a range of sites at Rohilkhand, India indicated that the enzyme activity in Chickpea was more sensitive to chloride-dominated saline water irrigation as compared with sulphate-dominated.
Abstract: Soil salinity adversely affects majority of biochemical processes in plants. In the present study, the enzymatic activity at different levels of electrical conductivity in soil was studied in Chickpea (Cicer arietinum), in order to understand the mechanism of salt tolerance and evaluate the effects on the yield. Salinity was found to inhibit the activity of both Nitrate reductase as well as total nitrogen. Whereas nitrite reductase and nitrogenase were observed to be incensed in their activity. The study with sodium chloride salinity was chosen as the North belt of Uttar Pradesh (India) was found saline. Saline ground water and soils are dominated by either chloride or sulphate salts. The chemical analysis of soil and plant samples collected from a range of sites at Rohilkhand, India indicated that the enzyme activity in Chickpea was more sensitive to chloride-dominated saline water irrigation as compared with sulphate-dominated.

TL;DR: In this article, the genotoxicity of carbaryl was evaluated through Chromosomal Aberration Test on gill cells in freshwater fish Channa punctatus and the results indicate that carbaryl is able to cause genotoxic effects.
Abstract: The genotoxicity of carbaryl was evaluated through Chromosomal Aberration Test on gill cells in freshwater fish Channa punctatus. Fishes were acclimatized in laboratory and divided into control and experimental groups. Two sublethal concentrations of carbaryl (0.1ppm and 0.5ppm) were identified and experimental fishes were exposed to these concentrations for a period of 144 hrs. Chromosomal aberrations were increased in carbaryl treated group, both were greater at higher concentration of carbaryl. These finding indicate that carbaryl is able to cause genotoxic effects in Channa punctatus.

TL;DR: The arrow-root powder is used in electrophoresis as an alternative to potato starch as discussed by the authors and its use is quite economical and this starch can be easily hydrolysed in any laboratory.
