TL;DR: It is found that this compressive approach performs as well as other compressive sensing techniques with greatly simplified post processing, resulting in significantly faster image reconstruction, and may be useful for single-pixel imaging in the low resolution, high-frame rate regime, or video-rate acquisition.
Abstract: Single-pixel imaging is an alternate imaging technique particularly well-suited to imaging modalities such as hyper-spectral imaging, depth mapping, 3D profiling. However, the single-pixel technique requires sequential measurements resulting in a trade-off between spatial resolution and acquisition time, limiting real-time video applications to relatively low resolutions. Compressed sensing techniques can be used to improve this trade-off. However, in this low resolution regime, conventional compressed sensing techniques have limited impact due to lack of sparsity in the datasets. Here we present an alternative compressed sensing method in which we optimize the measurement order of the Hadamard basis, such that at discretized increments we obtain complete sampling for different spatial resolutions. In addition, this method uses deterministic acquisition, rather than the randomized sampling used in conventional compressed sensing. This so-called ‘Russian Dolls’ ordering also benefits from minimal computational overhead for image reconstruction. We find that this compressive approach performs as well as other compressive sensing techniques with greatly simplified post processing, resulting in significantly faster image reconstruction. Therefore, the proposed method may be useful for single-pixel imaging in the low resolution, high-frame rate regime, or video-rate acquisition.

TL;DR: On the basis of the freestanding COF films, a nanofilter membrane and photoelectrochemical sensors for Ru3+ were successfully developed and the strategy was extended to the synthesis of crystalline zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 thin film, which exhibited high application potential.
Abstract: The confined synthesis of two-dimensional covalent organic framework (2D COF) thin films was developed by using thin superspreading water on the hydrogel immersed under oil as reactor. Through loading two monomers into oil and hydrogel, respectively, COF thin films are synthesized at the oil/water/hydrogel interface. This strategy provides a new way for synthesis of freestanding 2D COF thin films. Detailed characterizations of the COF thin films reveal homogeneous topography, large area, controllable thickness from 4 to 150 nm, and crystallinity with certain orientation. Young’s modulus of COF film is measured by AFM indentation as 25.9 ± 0.6 GPa, showing good mechanical properties. On the basis of the freestanding COF films, a nanofilter membrane and photoelectrochemical sensors for Ru3+ were successfully developed. Moreover, the strategy was extended to the synthesis of crystalline zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 thin film, which exhibited high application potential.

TL;DR: A promising multichannel coaxial extrusion system (MCCES) for microfluidic bioprinting of circumferentially multilayered tubular tissues in a single step, using customized bioinks constituting gelatin methacryloyl, alginate, and eight‐arm poly(ethylene glycol) acrylate with a tripentaerythritol core, is presented.
Abstract: Despite advances in the bioprinting technology, biofabrication of circumferentially multilayered tubular tissues or organs with cellular heterogeneity, such as blood vessels, trachea, intestine, colon, ureter, and urethra, remains a challenge. Herein, a promising multichannel coaxial extrusion system (MCCES) for microfluidic bioprinting of circumferentially multilayered tubular tissues in a single step, using customized bioinks constituting gelatin methacryloyl, alginate, and eight-arm poly(ethylene glycol) acrylate with a tripentaerythritol core, is presented. These perfusable cannular constructs can be continuously tuned up from monolayer to triple layers at regular intervals across the length of a bioprinted tube. Using customized bioink and MCCES, bioprinting of several tubular tissue constructs using relevant cell types with adequate biofunctionality including cell viability, proliferation, and differentiation is demonstrated. Specifically, cannular urothelial tissue constructs are bioprinted, using human urothelial cells and human bladder smooth muscle cells, as well as vascular tissue constructs, using human umbilical vein endothelial cells and human smooth muscle cells. These bioprinted cannular tissues can be actively perfused with fluids and nutrients to promote growth and proliferation of the embedded cell types. The fabrication of such tunable and perfusable circumferentially multilayered tissues represents a fundamental step toward creating human cannular tissues.

TL;DR: It is found that the correlation of anger among users is significantly higher than that of joy, and there is a stronger sentiment correlation between a pair of users if they share more interactions.
Abstract: Recent years have witnessed the tremendous growth of the online social media. In China, Weibo, a Twitter-like service, has attracted more than 500 million users in less than five years. Connected by online social ties, different users might share similar affective states. We find that the correlation of anger among users is significantly higher than that of joy. While the correlation of sadness is surprisingly low. Moreover, there is a stronger sentiment correlation between a pair of users if they share more interactions. And users with larger number of friends possess more significant sentiment correlation with their neighborhoods. Our findings could provide insights for modeling sentiment influence and propagation in online social networks.
