TL;DR: When dealing with uncertainties, it is shown that DUEA has a different but complementary mechanism to widely used robust control and adaptive control and other promising methods such as internal model control and output regulation theory.
Abstract: This paper gives a comprehensive overview on disturbance/uncertainty estimation and attenuation (DUEA) techniques in permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. Various disturbances and uncertainties in PMSM and also other alternating current (ac) motor drives are first reviewed which shows they have different behaviors and appear in different control loops of the system. The existing DUEA and other relevant control methods in handling disturbances and uncertainties widely used in PMSM drives, and their latest developments are then discussed and summarized. It also provides in-depth analysis of the relationship between these advanced control methods in the context of PMSM systems. When dealing with uncertainties, it is shown that DUEA has a different but complementary mechanism to widely used robust control and adaptive control. The similarities and differences in disturbance attenuation of DUEA and other promising methods such as internal model control and output regulation theory have been analyzed in detail. The wide applications of these methods in different ac motor drives (in particular in PMSM drives) are categorized and summarized. Finally, the paper ends with the discussion on future directions in this area.

TL;DR: A close relationship is identified between UAV positioning and directional mmWave user discovery, where update of the former may directly impact the latter and vice versa and different ways of dealing with signal blockage are explored.
Abstract: To support high data rate urgent or ad hoc communications, we consider mmWave UAV cellular networks and the associated challenges and solutions. To enable fast beamforming training and tracking, we first investigate a hierarchical structure of beamforming codebooks and design of hierarchical codebooks with different beam widths via sub-array techniques. We next examine the Doppler effect as a result of UAV movement and find that the Doppler effect may not be catastrophic when high gain directional transmission is used. We further explore the use of mmWave spatial-division multiple access and demonstrate its clear advantage in improving the cellular network capacity. We also explore different ways of dealing with signal blockage and point out that possible adaptive UAV cruising algorithms would be necessary to counteract signal blockage. Finally, we identify a close relationship between UAV positioning and directional mmWave user discovery, where update of the former may directly impact the latter and vice versa.

TL;DR: TPH and TPH-Se acceptor-based solar cells show high power conversion efficiency of 8.28% and 9.28%, respectively, which mainly results from the combined properties of broad and strong absorption ability, appropriate LUMO level, desirable aggregation, high electron mobility, and good film morphology with the polymer donor.
Abstract: Two kinds of conjugated C3-symmetric perylene dyes, namely, triperylene hexaimides (TPH) and selenium-annulated triperylene hexaimides (TPH-Se), are efficiently synthesized. Both TPH and TPH-Se have broad and strong absorption in the region 300–600 nm together with suitable LUMO levels of about −3.8 eV. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies show that TPH displays an extremely twisted three-bladed propeller configuration and a unique 3D network assembly in which three PBI subunits in one TPH molecule have strong π–π intermolecular interactions with PBI subunits in neighboring molecules. The integration of selenophene to TPH endows TPH-Se with a more distorted propeller configuration and a more compact 3D network assembly due to the Se···O interactions. A single-crystal transistor confirms that both TPH and TPH-Se possess good electron-transport ability. TPH and TPH-Se acceptor-based solar cells show high power conversion efficiency of 8.28% and 9.28%, respectively, which mainly results from the combined...

TL;DR: An overview of recent advances in fixed-time cooperative control of multiagent systems is presented and several challenging issues that need to be addressed in the near future are raised.
Abstract: Fixed-time cooperative control is currently a hot research topic in multiagent systems since it can provide a guaranteed settling time, which does not depend on initial conditions. Compared with asymptotic cooperative control algorithms, fixed-time cooperative control algorithms can achieve better closed-loop performance and disturbance rejection properties. Different from finite-time control, fixed-time cooperative control produces the faster rate of convergence and provides an explicit estimation of the settling time independent of initial conditions, which is desirable for multiagent systems. This paper aims at presenting an overview of recent advances in fixed-time cooperative control of multiagent systems. Some fundamental concepts about finite- and fixed-time stability and stabilization are first recalled with insight understanding. Then, recent results in finite- and fixed-time cooperative control are reviewed in detail and categorized according to different agent dynamics. Finally, this paper raises several challenging issues that need to be addressed in the near future.
