TL;DR: Textile triboelectric nanogenerators for human respiratory monitoring with machine washability are developed through loom weaving of Cu-PET and PI-Cu-PET yarns by integrating into a chest strap, human respiratory rate and depth can be monitored.
Abstract: Textile triboelectric nanogenerators for human respiratory monitoring with machine washability are developed through loom weaving of Cu-PET and PI-Cu-PET yarns. Triboelectric charges are generated at the yarn crisscross intersections to achieve a maximum short circuit current density of 15.50 mA m-2 . By integrating into a chest strap, human respiratory rate and depth can be monitored.

TL;DR: Zhang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a Mixed High-Order Attention Network (MHN) to further enhance the discrimination and richness of attention knowledge in an explicit manner, which can capture the subtle differences among pedestrians and produce the discriminative attention proposals.
Abstract: Attention has become more attractive in person re-identification (ReID) as it is capable of biasing the allocation of available resources towards the most informative parts of an input signal. However, state-of-the-art works concentrate only on coarse or first-order attention design, e.g. spatial and channels attention, while rarely exploring higher-order attention mechanism. We take a step towards addressing this problem. In this paper, we first propose the High-Order Attention (HOA) module to model and utilize the complex and high-order statistics information in attention mechanism, so as to capture the subtle differences among pedestrians and to produce the discriminative attention proposals. Then, rethinking person ReID as a zero-shot learning problem, we propose the Mixed High-Order Attention Network (MHN) to further enhance the discrimination and richness of attention knowledge in an explicit manner. Extensive experiments have been conducted to validate the superiority of our MHN for person ReID over a wide variety of state-of-the-art methods on three large-scale datasets, including Market-1501, DukeMTMC-ReID and CUHK03-NP. TL;DR: A facile approach is demonstrated to generate atomically dispersed platinum via photochemical reduction of frozen chloroplatinic acid solution using ultraviolet light to obtain atomically-dispersed platinum catalysts with high electrocatalytic performance.
Abstract: Photochemical solution-phase reactions have been widely applied for the syntheses of nanocrystals. In particular, tuning of the nucleation and growth of solids has been a major area of focus. Here we demonstrate a facile approach to generate atomically dispersed platinum via photochemical reduction of frozen chloroplatinic acid solution using ultraviolet light. Using this iced-photochemical reduction, the aggregation of atoms is prevented, and single atoms are successfully stabilized. The platinum atoms are deposited on various substrates, including mesoporous carbon, graphene, carbon nanotubes, titanium dioxide nanoparticles, and zinc oxide nanowires. The atomically dispersed platinum on mesoporous carbon exhibits efficient catalytic activity for the electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction, with an overpotential of only 65 mV at a current density of 100 mA cm−2 and long-time durability (>10 h), superior to state-of-the-art platinum/carbon. This iced-photochemical reduction may be extended to other single atoms, for example gold and silver, as demonstrated in this study. Photochemical synthesis is a popular approach to fabricate metallic nanoparticles, however stabilizing individually-dispersed atoms by this method remains challenging. Here, the authors freeze their precursor solution prior to UV irradiation to obtain atomically-dispersed platinum catalysts with high electrocatalytic performance.
