TL;DR: Analysis and evaluations manifest that the proposed BlockTDM scheme provides a general, flexible, and configurable blockchain-based paradigm for trusted data management with tamper-resistance, which is suitable for edge computing with high-level security and creditability.
Abstract: With rapid development of computing technologies, large amount of data are gathered from edge terminals or Internet of Things (IoT) devices, however data trust and security in edge computing environment are very important issues to be considered, especially when the gathered data are fraud or dishonest, or the data are misused or spread without any authorization, which may lead to serious problems. In this article, a blockchain-based trusted data management scheme (called BlockTDM) in edge computing is proposed to solve the above problems, in which we proposed a flexible and configurable blockchain architecture that includes mutual authentication protocol, flexible consensus, smart contract, block and transaction data management, blockchain nodes management, and deployment. The BlockTDM scheme can support matrix-based multichannel data segment and isolation for sensitive or privacy data protection, and moreover, we have designed user-defined sensitive data encryption before the transaction payload stores in blockchain system, and have implemented conditional access and decryption query of the protected blockchain data and transactions through smart contract. Finally, we have evaluated the proposed BlockTDM scheme security, availability, and efficiency with large amount of experiments. Analysis and evaluations manifest that the proposed BlockTDM scheme provides a general, flexible, and configurable blockchain-based paradigm for trusted data management with tamper-resistance, which is suitable for edge computing with high-level security and creditability.

TL;DR: In this article, a new type of heterostructure material with uniformity by employing the magnetron sputtering technique is investigated, which is called MoS2-Sb2Te3-MoS2 heterostructures.
Abstract: Two-dimensional (2D) materials with potential applications in photonic and optoelectronic devices have attracted increasing attention due to their unique structures and captivating properties. However, generation of stable high-energy ultrashort pulses requires further boosting of these materials’ optical properties, such as higher damage threshold and larger modulation depth. Here we investigate a new type of heterostructure material with uniformity by employing the magnetron sputtering technique. Heterostructure materials are synthesized with van der Waals heterostructures consisting of MoS2 and Sb2Te3. The bandgap, carrier mobility, and carrier concentration of the MoS2-Sb2Te3-MoS2 heterostructure materials are calculated theoretically. By using these materials as saturable absorbers (SAs), applications in fiber lasers with Q-switching and mode-locking states are demonstrated experimentally. The modulation depth and damage threshold of SAs are measured to be 64.17% and 14.13 J/cm2, respectively. Both theoretical and experimental results indicate that MoS2-Sb2Te3-MoS2 heterostructure materials have large modulation depth, and can resist high power during the generation of ultrashort pulses. The MoS2-Sb2Te3-MoS2 heterostructure materials have the advantages of low cost, high reliability, and suitability for mass production, and provide a promising solution for the development of 2D-material-based devices with desirable electronic and optoelectronic properties.

TL;DR: This paper proposes the novel concept of key-aggregate searchable encryption and instantiates the concept through a concrete KASE scheme, in which a data owner only needs to distribute a single key to a user for sharing a large number of documents, and the user only need to submit a single trapdoor to the cloud for querying the shared documents.
Abstract: The capability of selectively sharing encrypted data with different users via public cloud storage may greatly ease security concerns over inadvertent data leaks in the cloud. A key challenge to designing such encryption schemes lies in the efficient management of encryption keys. The desired flexibility of sharing any group of selected documents with any group of users demands different encryption keys to be used for different documents. However, this also implies the necessity of securely distributing to users a large number of keys for both encryption and search, and those users will have to securely store the received keys, and submit an equally large number of keyword trapdoors to the cloud in order to perform search over the shared data. The implied need for secure communication, storage, and complexity clearly renders the approach impractical. In this paper, we address this practical problem, which is largely neglected in the literature, by proposing the novel concept of key-aggregate searchable encryption and instantiating the concept through a concrete KASE scheme, in which a data owner only needs to distribute a single key to a user for sharing a large number of documents, and the user only needs to submit a single trapdoor to the cloud for querying the shared documents. The security analysis and performance evaluation both confirm that our proposed schemes are provably secure and practically efficient.

TL;DR: The experimental results demonstrate that the 2D GeAs crystals have promising potential for polarization optical applications, and are consistent with the theoretical calculation of band structure and band realignment.
Abstract: The ability to detect linearly polarized light is central to practical applications in polarized optical and optoelectronic fields and has been successfully demonstrated with polarized photodetection of in-plane anisotropic two-dimensional (2D) materials. Here, we report the anisotropic optical characterization of a group IV-V compound-2D germanium arsenic (GeAs) with anisotropic monoclinic structures. High-quality 2D GeAs crystals show the representative angle-resolved Raman property. The in-plane anisotropic optical nature of the GeAs crystal is further investigated by polarization-resolved absorption spectra (400-2000 nm) and polarization-sensitive photodetectors. From the visible to the near-infrared range, 2D GeAs nanoflakes demonstrate the distinct perpendicular optical reversal with a 75-80° angle on both the linear dichroism and polarization-sensitive photodetection. Obvious anisotropic features and the high dichroic ratio of Ipmax /Ipmin ∼ 1.49 at 520 nm and Ipmax /Ipmin ∼ 4.4 at 830 nm are achieved by the polarization-sensitive photodetection. The polarization-dependent photocurrent mapping implied that the polarized photocurrent mainly occurred at the Schottky photodiodes between electrode/GeAs interface. These experimental results are consistent with the theoretical calculation of band structure and band realignment. Besides the excellent polarization-sensitive photoresponse properties, GeAs-based photodetectors also exhibit rapid on/off response. These results demonstrate that the 2D GeAs crystals have promising potential for polarization optical applications.
