TL;DR: Three Indian tribal pulses, Bauhinia purpurea L, B racemosa Lamk and B vahlii W and A, were analysed for pod morphology, proximate composition, seed protein fractions, amino acid composition, minerals and antinutritional factors.
Abstract: Three Indian tribal pulses, Bauhinia purpurea L, B racemosa Lamk and B vahlii W and A, were analysed for pod morphology, proximate composition, seed protein fractions, amino acid composition, minerals and antinutritional factors. The seeds of B purpurea and B vahlii contained higher contents of crude protein and crude lipid than those of B racemosa resulting in higher energy values for these two pulses. The seeds of B purpurea were rich in K, whereas those of B racemosa and B vahlii were rich in Ca and Fe. Albumins and globulins constituted the predominant fractions of the seed proteins in B purpurea and B vahlii whereas glutelins predominated in B racemosa. In all three species the contents of the essential amino acids lysine, tyrosine and phenylalanine were fairly high; the contents of sulphur amino acids were limiting. Isoleucine and leucine were limiting only in B vahlii proteins. Levels of the antinutritional factors investigated, free phenols, tannins, L-DOPA, and haemagglutinating and trypsin inhibitor activities were not particularly high.

TL;DR: Seeds of the tribal pulse,Mucuna gigantea, were analysed for proximate composition, total (true) seed proteins, seed protein fractionation, amino acid composition, minerals and antinutritional factors.
Abstract: Seeds of the tribal pulse,Mucuna gigantea, were analysed for proximate composition, total (true) seed proteins, seed protein fractionation, amino acid composition, minerals and antinutritional factors. Crude proteins, crude lipids, ash and nitrogen free extractives constituted 30.62%, 9.03%, 5.99% and 42.79%, respectively. The calorific values of 100 g dry matter of seed material is 374.91 kCal. The essential amino acids, leucine +isoleucine, are present in relatively large quantities. The seeds are rich in minerals like K, Ca, Mg and Fe. Antinutritional substances like total free phenols and tannins, trypsin inhibitor activity and haemagglutinating activity also were investigated.

TL;DR: Results suggested that at extreme conditions each individual factor had an independent influence on the growth of bacteria.
Abstract: Effect of environmental factors such as temperature,pH and sodium chloride concentrations, individually and at various combinations, on the growth and survival of spoilage bacteria was studied in flesh broth and Zobells broth. Eight isolates, belonging to three different genera namely, Pseudomonas , Vibrio and Acinetobacter , harvested from spoiled Penaeus indicus were stored at 5,15,30,35 and 50°C, pH 2,4,6,8,10 and 12 and sodium chloride concentrations of 0,1,3,6,10 and 15%. Optimum growth for all the isolates was found to vary from 15 to 45°C and pH from 5-10. The growth pattern of all the isolates, in rcsponse to various sodium chloride concentrations was not similar in flesh broth and Zobells broth. Optimum sodium chloride concentration was found to vary from 1 to 6%. Influence of more than one environmental factor on the growth of spoilage bacteria was tested at various levels in flesh media by maintaining one of the factors constant and altering the other two. Results suggested that at extreme conditions each individual factor had an independent influence on the growth of bacteria.

TL;DR: In this paper, the structure and electrical properties of thermally evaporated neodymium oxide thin films are studied and two activation energies for the conduction process are also estimated and the results are discussed.
Abstract: Structure and electrical properties of thermally evaporated neodymium oxide thin films are studied. From the XRD technique the structure of the deposited film (265 nm) is found to be of crystalline nature. However, films of lower thicknesses are found to possess amorphous structure. The loss peak minimum (tan δmin), observed in the frequency-loss factor plot, is found to shift to the lower frequency region as the number of annealing cycles increases and the results are discussed. The ac conduction property of these films with aluminium electrodes forming a MIM sandwich structure is studied at different frequencies and temperatures. Two activation energies for the conduction process are also estimated and the results are discussed.

TL;DR: An attempt has been made to evaluate the cytogenetic effect of fenthion in human lymphocyte cultures in vitro, which is extensively used in control of leaf hoppers, cutworms, mites on vegetable crops.
Abstract: Fenthion is an organophosphorus insecticide which is extensively used in control of leaf hoppers, cutworms, mites on vegetable crops. It has been reported that organophosphorus pesticides cause a significant increase in sister chromatid exchanges in mammalian cell lines. A significant increase of chromosomal aberrations has been reported in rural population exposed to pesticides. Organosphosphorus pesticides malathion, diazinon, dimethoate, phosdrin and dursban induced sister chromatid exchanges in human lymphoid cells. Exchange type of aberration has been reported in fluoriculturist who were exposed to organophosphorus, organochlorine pesticides. In the present investigation an attempt has been made to evaluate the cytogenetic effect of fenthion in human lymphocyte cultures in vitro.

Abstract: Administration of anethole at 10 and 50 mg doses caused significant reduction in seminal vesicle weight, RNA and protein concentrations and contents and acid phosphates activity. However, there was significant increase in DNA concentrations and in the activities of alkaline phosphates and lactate dehydrogenase. The effects were more pronounced in the group receiving 50 mg of anethole.

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple method of analysis for observer design in generalized state space or singular systems of transistor circuits using the single-term Walsh series (STWS) approach is presented.
Abstract: This paper presents a simple method of analysis for observer design in generalized state space or singular systems of transistor circuits using the single-term Walsh series (STWS) approach. The input may conveniently and easily be expanded in STWS. The solution is obtained both in block pulse form and in discrete form. The simple and direct method presented here can easily be implemented with a digital computer and it reduces the computer time very much.

TL;DR: In this article, the trajectories of a single charged particle in relation to the cusp axis and cusp plane in a cusped magnetic field are numerically studied, and it is shown that the particle reflected by the magnetic field forms a double helix; the helix itself makes a helical motion.
Abstract: The trajectories of a single charged particle in relation to the cusp axis and cusp plane in a cusped magnetic field are numerically studied. The results show that the particle reflected by the cusp field forms a double helix; i.e., the helix itself makes a helical motion. The location of the reflection point extends well into the injection side of the cusp plane, suggesting that a diverging magnetic field of appropriate geometry may be able to reflect a charged particle. However, the location of the reflection point does not alter the nature of the trajectory. >
