TL;DR: In this article, the effect of tangential blowing on the drag force for the case of flow around a circular cylinder only at Reynolds number (Re) 200 has been studied with respect to the intensity of blowing as well as port position of blowing.
Abstract: In the present work, two dimensional flow simulations have been performed to study the effect of tangential blowing on the drag force for the case of flow around a circular cylinder only at Reynolds number (Re) 200 Blowing ports have been placed symmetrically with respect to the horizontal flow axis The effect of blowing on the boundary layer has been studied with respect to the intensity of blowing as well as port position of blowing For a particular intensity of blowing, oscillations of the front stagnation point and the separation point was studied It was found that oscillation frequencies were identical with that of lift coefficient It was also observed that with the increase of the intensity of the blowing the position of the separation point shifts downstream (separation delay)thus the wake becomes narrower resulting the decrease of drag Strouhal number was found to increase with the intensity of blowing It was observed that the Strouhal number as well as the position of the separation point is influenced by the position of the blowing port Although, for a significant range of the blowing port positions the Strouhal number is observed to be constant Drag was found to be influenced by the position of the blowing ports Pressure drag was found to be more significant Thus total drag is influenced primarily by the pressure drag It was observed that in the range of 40° to about 110° for the position of the blowing port drag decreased But beyond 110° it increased againCopyright © 2014 by ASME

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of a SiC-based voltage source converter (VSC) operating in HVDC transmission system under the DC fault condition was analyzed and the three phase harmonic filters to eliminate the converter generated harmonics was also examined.
Abstract: Development in Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductor technology is gaining immense importance compared to the conventional silicon based semiconductor devices. Application areas where excellent level of efficiency, fast switching frequencies, very minimum switching losses and impressive performance under elevated temperatures is expected SiC provides the best results. Thus it plays a prominent role in future electrical grid technology. This paper analyses the performance of a SiC based voltage source converter (VSC) operating in HVDC transmission system under the DC fault condition. Simulations conducted on MATLAB/Simulink shows that proposed SiC based VSC-HVDC protection scheme reduces the DC short circuit fault current very quickly compared to the Si based VSC. Performance of three phase harmonic filters to eliminate the converter generated harmonics is also examined.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors proposed a new methodology that charges an electric vehicle on an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS), which efficiently controls non-linear suspension classification and reduces power fluctuation.
Abstract: The rapid upsurge in the espousal of electric vehicles in the global market for improving the sustainability of transportation systems raised apprehensions regarding the impact of the electric network during peak load hours that may affect the embargo of a power blackout, voltage drop, etc. The effect of these types of demand-side energy paraphernalia like Electric vehicles on the grid is the cause of locating charging infrastructure, which confines with producing cost, battery charging time, and the limitations in the battery. We propose in this paper a new-fangled methodology that charges an Electric Vehicle on an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). It efficiently controls non-linear suspension classification and reduces power fluctuation. Also, Hybridization is effective in the progression of prediction models, predominantly for renewable energy systems. Furthermore, with the familiarization of Blockchain Technology, it will accomplish a protected and transparent provision with an acceptable expectancy cost through decentralization of the network.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors point out the major problems that an HR face while taking tough calls on moral decisions and how he/she can overcome their dilemma and overcome the communication barrier that is common in most organizational sectors.
Abstract: At present, we see HR Professionals are tasked with various ethical as well as professional challenges such as inequality in workplace, sexual harassments, setting standards for workplace conducts amongst few. When certain types of scandals threaten the status quo of a company, it becomes the prerogative of the HR to take tough decisions and handle the matter swiftly so that the daily work culture is not affected. Thus, an HR professional can be termed as the “moral police” of a company. But this task is no easy feat. It befalls on a them to master the art of ethical decision making and become a valuable resource by communicating them not only to the employees but for the sake of company as well. In this study, I aim to point out the major problems that an HR face while taking tough calls on moral decisions and how he/she can overcome their dilemma and overcome the communication barrier that is common in most organizational sectors. My study will mainly focus on the four Ws : What kind of situation may arise that can threaten the moral grounds of decision making, Why such threatening situations may arise , What can be ethically done to overcome such situation and Ways to communicate them to the employees of the organization.
