14 Dec 1995TL;DR: In this paper, the carbon material is selected from graphite powder, a graphite fiber, a carbon fiber, carbon cloth, a vitreous carbon product, and an activated carbon product.
Abstract: Processes for preparing a carbon product having an organic group attached to a carbon material. The carbon material is selected from graphite powder, a graphite fiber, a carbon fiber, a carbon cloth, a vitreous carbon product, and an activated carbon product. In one process at least one diazonium salt reacts with a carbon material in the absence of an externally applied electric current sufficient to reduce the diazonium salt. In another process at least one diazonium salt reacts with a carbon material in a protic reaction medium.

24 May 1982TL;DR: A high temperature oxidation resistant alloy as mentioned in this paper consists essentially of, by weight, from 14 to 18% chromium, from 4 to 6% aluminum, from 1.5 to 8% iron, a small but effective yttrium content not exceeding 0.04% of elements from the group consisting of elements 57 through 71 of the periodic table of the elements, balance essentially nickel.
Abstract: A high temperature oxidation resistant alloy. The alloy consists essentially of, by weight, from 14 to 18% chromium, from 4 to 6% aluminum, from 1.5 to 8% iron, a small but effective yttrium content not exceeding 0.04%, up to 12% cobalt, up to 1% manganese, up to 1% molybdenum, up to 1% silicon, up to 0.25% carbon, up to 0.03% boron, up to 1% tungsten, up to 1% tantalum, up to 0.5% titanium, up to 0.5% hafnium, up to 0.5% rhenium, up to 0.04% of elements from the group consisting of elements 57 through 71 of the periodic table of the elements, balance essentially nickel. The nickel plus the cobalt content is at least 66%. The iron content is in accordance with the relationship, Fe ≧3+4 (%Al-5), when the aluminum content is at least 5%.

26 Feb 2013TL;DR: In this paper, modified carbon black with a low PAH concentration was described, and elastomeric or rubber compositions containing the modified carbon-black of the present invention were further described.
Abstract: Modified carbon blacks, such as rubber blacks, having a low PAH concentration are described. Furthermore, elastomeric or rubber compositions containing the modified carbon black of the present invention are further described, as well as methods of making modified carbon black having a low PAH concentration.

20 Aug 2008TL;DR: In this article, a method of preparing polymer compositions comprising modified metal oxides in a polymer was proposed, where a nanoparticle dispersion of a metal oxide in a non-aqueous solvent was combined with at least one coupling agent to form a nanoparticles dispersion in the non-queous solvent.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing polymer compositions comprising modified metal oxides in a polymer wherein a nanoparticle dispersion of a metal oxide in a non-aqueous solvent is combined with at least one coupling agent to form a nanoparticle dispersion of a modified metal oxide in the non-aqueous solvent. The nanoparticle dispersion is then combined with a polymer followed by the removal of the non-aqueous solvent or, alternatively, combined with a monomer, which is polymerized to form the polymer and removal of the solvent, in any order. Also disclosed are polymer compositions prepared by this method.
