09 Apr 2003TL;DR: A process for preparing a modified pigment having attached at least one organic group is described in this article, which comprises the step of reacting a dried mixture comprising a pigment with attached reactive groups and a modifying agent.
Abstract: A process for preparing a modified pigment having attached at least one organic group is described. This process comprises the step of reacting a dried mixture comprising a pigment having attached at least one reactive group and a modifying agent. The dried mixture is reacted under high intensity mixing conditions for a time and temperature sufficient to form the modified pigment.

26 Nov 1997TL;DR: In this paper, a method for the production of organically modified aerogels is described, in which a hydrogel is provided, and the surface of the hydrogels obtained in step (a) is modified, and then the modified surface is dried and used for the use of the aerogel.
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel organically modified aerogels, a method for their production, in which a) a hydrogel is provided; b) the surface of the hydrogel obtained in step (a) is modified, and c) the modified surface of the gel obtained in step (b) is dried, and the use thereof. The present invention also relates to novel organically modified wet gels, a method for the production and the use thereof.

30 Dec 1982TL;DR: In this article, a method of heat treating NICRALY alloys to obtain a uniform film of desired alumina (Al2O3) on the surface of the alloys was presented.
Abstract: METHOD OF HEAT TREATING NICRALY ALLOYS FOR USE AS CERAMIC KILN AND FURNACE HARDWARE ABSTRACT This invention relates to components of ceramic kiln and furnace hardware made of NICRALY alloys. Disclosed is a method of heat treating NICRALY alloys to obtain a uniform film of desired alumina (Al2O3) on the surface of the alloys. The gist of the invention resides in the control of the critical relationship between the tempera-ture and the partial pressure of oxygen in the oxygen potential controlled atmosphere during the heat treatment. Optimum results are obtained when the temperature is about 2100°F (1150°C) and the dew point is about -30°F (-34°C) in hydrogen for about one hour.
