••
TL;DR: Findings suggest that in cervical mucus constituents exist in different concentrations each regulated by a particular hormone.
58 citations
••
TL;DR: In this article, the AA constructed a multiple choice test to evaluate the ability of the aphasic patients to understand the meaning of words in clusters of semantically similar alternatives, and the clinical usefulness and the psychometric characteristics of the test are discussed.
42 citations
••
TL;DR: The ABH salivary gel filtration pattern of a single subject is a stable individual characteristic and probably is genetically determined.
23 citations
••
TL;DR: The origin and concentration of micellar phospholipids used as carriers for the CoQ homologs profoundly affects the restoration of NADH-oxidase in pentane-extracted mitochondria both from yeast and beef heart.
21 citations
••
TL;DR: In this article, human saliva from secretors of groups A, B, O and AB was gel filtered on Sephadex G-200 and G-100 columns, and on thin layers and the eluates were tested for antigens by the haemagglutination inhibition method.
20 citations
••
TL;DR: The probable identity of the stromal fraction 3 with the blood group specific glycolipid isolated by many investigators from erythrocytes is suggested.
15 citations
••
TL;DR: HPB inhibited the CoQ 6-deficient succin-oxidase, and also in the presence of CoQ2, CoQ6 or CoQ10, and the inhibitory effects of HPB and HFB were apparent with supplementation with CoQ 2.

••
TL;DR: The brain-specific acidic protein S- 100 is a migratory protein from soma to terminals of the glossopharyngeal and vagus nerves of rabbit (axonal transport of S-100 protein).

TL;DR: Some of the factors involved in the regulation of the NAD(P) + redox potential are modified in the Walker carcinosarcoma 256, however, comparison with results obtained from other kinds of tumour cells suggests that these modifications may not be the factor responsible for changes in the oxidative metabolism of carbohydrates in this tumour.

TL;DR: The results of this investigation are consistent with the idea that changes in phospholipids and changes in enzyme activities are not linked by a causal relation.
Abstract: Phospholipids extracted fromSaccharomyces cerevisiae at different stages of development after glucose repression contain three major fatty acids: palmitic, palmitoleic and oleic. The ratio palmitic: palmitoleic strongly decreases beginning at the 6th hour of growth.
••
TL;DR: Electron microscopic investigation in the taste bud of the foliate papillae of the rabbit has distinguished two filamentous structures: microtubule and filaments, which are prominent in number as compared to microtubules.

TL;DR: The cyanide-insensitive redox changes of electron carriers described above are attributed to an electron transport system involving the cytochrome b-type pigments of the microsomal fraction.
