Abstract: The marine environment is a rich source of biologically active molecules for the treatment of human diseases, especially cancer. The adaptation to unique environmental conditions led marine organisms to evolve different pathways than their terrestrial counterparts, thus producing unique chemicals with a broad diversity and complexity. So far, more than 36,000 compounds have been isolated from marine micro- and macro-organisms including but not limited to fungi, bacteria, microalgae, macroalgae, sponges, corals, mollusks and tunicates, with hundreds of new marine natural products (MNPs) being discovered every year. Marine-based pharmaceuticals have started to impact modern pharmacology and different anti-cancer drugs derived from marine compounds have been approved for clinical use, such as: cytarabine, vidarabine, nelarabine (prodrug of ara-G), fludarabine phosphate (pro-drug of ara-A), trabectedin, eribulin mesylate, brentuximab vedotin, polatuzumab vedotin, enfortumab vedotin, belantamab mafodotin, plitidepsin, and lurbinectedin. This review focuses on the bioactive molecules derived from the marine environment with anticancer activity, discussing their families, origin, structural features and therapeutic use.

Abstract: Parkinson's disease (PD) is clinically characterized by a resting tremor, bradykinesia, cogwheel phenomenon, rigidity, disorder of postural reflexes and especially changes in voice and speech. We studied 30 PD patients who were treated with dopamine and 20 normal subjects as the control group. The parameters of vocal fold edges, glottal closure, vertical levels of cords, amplitude of vibration, mucosal wave, vibratory behavior, phase symmetry, ventricular folds and movements, periodicity, arytenoids and thick mucous were evaluated by videolaryngostroboscopy. The Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale was applied to the patient group. The voices of the patients were evaluated by the Dr.Speech-4 and Spectra-PRO computer programs. Maximum phonation time, fundamental frequency, amplitude and the harmonic-to-noise ratio were recorded and compared with those of the control group. The abnormal videolaryngostroboscopic findings were more frequent in the PD group (70% versus 45%; P<0.05). Voice analysis showed significant differences in the parameters such as maximum phonation time, maximum fundamental frequency, the frequency range and the harmonic-to-noise ratio. We thought that these methods and parameters yielded sufficient information for diagnosis and follow-up of vocal function in patients with PD.

Abstract: The effects of pregnancy on sexuality were studied in 158 pregnant women. They were surveyed by questionnaire about sociodemographic variables and sexual behaviour. Dyspareunia was common in our study group during pregnancy. Pregnancy had a negative effect on orgasmic quality. Dyspareunia and orgasmic quality influenced coital frequency. Coital frequency declined as the month of the pregnancy increased. Pregnancy is a potent influence on sexuality irrespective of an individual's conditioning.

Abstract: OBJECTIVE In this study, we aimed to adapt the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5-ClinicianVersion into Turkish and to demonstrate its reliability. METHOD: A total of 185 patients, both inpatient and outpatient, from two different university hospitals were included. Training sessions on the features and use of SCID-5/CV were held before the data collection. During the study, in order to test the diagnostic agreement and accuracy, two psychiatrists remained present at the evaluation of each participant; alternatively being interviewer and the observer. Cohen's kappa coefficient for inter-rater reliability was calculated for every diagnostic category. RESULTS: The patient group had a mean age of 37.2 (±13.5) years and 55.7% were female. The education status was as follows: 2.7% were illiterate, 1.7% literate with no primary education, 33% had primary education, 23.8% had secondary education and 38.9% had higher education. The calculated kappa value showed excellent agreement for schizophrenia (κ=0.93), bipolar disorder (κ=0.96), major depressive disorder (κ=0.89), dysthymic disorder (κ=0.82), alcohol use disorder (κ=0.96), panic disorder (κ=0.84), agoraphobia (κ=0.85), social anxiety disorder (κ=0.95), generalized anxiety disorder (κ=0.89), obsessive compulsive disorder (κ=0.87), posttraumatic stress disorder (κ=0.89), adult attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (κ=1.00), specific phobias (κ=0.82) and very good agreement with adjustment disorder (κ=0.78) and somatic symptom disorder (κ=0.65). CONCLUSION: Similar to the past SCID versions, kappa values were found to be quite high and all were statistically significant. The Turkish version of SCID-5/ CV can be reliably used in both clinical practice and clinical studies.

Abstract: This paper presents a nonlinear vibration analysis of the tensioned nanobeams with simple–simple and clamped–clamped boundary conditions. The size dependent Euler–Bernoulli beam model is applied to tensioned nanobeam. Governing differential equation of motion of the system is obtain by using modified couple stress theory and Hamilton's principle. The small size effect can be obtained by a material length scale parameter. The nonlinear equations of motion including stretching of the neutral axis are derived. Damping and forcing effects are considered in the analysis. The closed form approximate solution of nonlinear equations is solved by using the multiple scale method, a perturbation technique. The frequency-response curves of the system are constructed. Moreover, the effect of different system parameters on the vibration of the system are determined and presented numerically and graphically. The size effect is significant for very thin beams whose height is at the nanoscale. The vibration frequency predicted by the modified couple stress theory is larger than that by the classical beam theory. Comparison studies are also performed to verify the present formulation and solutions.
