TL;DR: Aromatase inhibitors are predicted to become the gold standard in the treatment of estrogen‐dependent diseases in reproductive medicine in the near future.
Abstract: In premenopausal women ovaries are the major sites of estrogen production, while in postmenopausal women estrogen is produced by aromatization of ovarian and adrenal androgens in extragonadal sites, mostly in adipose tissue. Aromatase is a cytochrome P450 hemoprotein-containing enzyme complex that catalyzes the rate-limiting step in the conversion of androstenedione and testosterone to estrone and estradiol (E2). Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) have been developed primarily for use in either natural or surgical postmenopausal patients. In premenopausal women, the ovary can overcome the estrogen blockade by reflex increments of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), so AIs must be combined with a gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist to prevent the reflex LH and FSH increments. In advanced hormone-dependent breast cancer treatment, AIs have been shown to be superior to tamoxifen. Preliminary evidence also suggests superiority in the adjuvant, neoadjuvant settings and also for b...

TL;DR: It is suggested that single-dose ornidazole may be an important alternative agent for the treatment of dientamoebiasis, because of its longer half-life and fewer side-effects.

TL;DR: Arthroscopically resected the impinged distal fascicle of the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (AIT-FL) in 21 patients with chronic ankle pain after an ankle sprain and good-to-excellent results were obtained in 17 patients.
Abstract: We arthroscopically resected the impinged distal fascicle of the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (AIT-FL) in 21 patients (mean age 31 (11-68) years, 14 women) with chronic ankle pain after an ankle sprain. Clinical tests revealed moderate laxity in 2 and severe laxity in another 2, the remaining 17 ankles showing only mild laxity. During arthroscopy, an impinging distal fascicle of the AITFL was found in all cases. Following anterolateral synovectomy, the fascicle was excised. At the follow-up after mean 3 (2-4) years, good-to-excellent results were obtained in 17 patients. 19 patients were satisfied with the procedure and 17 patients returned to their previous level of activity. 2 patients who had mild laxity were graded as poor because of neuromas of the terminal branches of the superficial peroneal nerve. These patients became asymptomatic after an injection of steroids.

TL;DR: From the present study it was found that Rubia tinctorum L. (Rubiaceae) revealed antimicrobial activity against some Gram (+) and Gram (–) bacteria, yeasts, filamentous fungi and actinomycetes.
Abstract: In this study, ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate and water extracts of Rubia tinctorum L. (Rubiaceae) were tested for antimicrobial activity by the disc diffusion method. From the present study it was found that Rubia tinctorum L. revealed antimicrobial activity against some Gram (+) and Gram (-) bacteria, yeasts, filamentous fungi and actinomycetes.
