TL;DR: In this article, the impact of a fuzzy logic controlled dynamic voltage restorer on a transformerless single-stage grid-connected solar photovoltaic system controlled by a data-based maximum power point tracking technique is presented.
Abstract: This paper presents the impact of a fuzzy logic controlled dynamic voltage restorer on a transformer-less single-stage grid-connected solar photovoltaic system controlled by a data based maximum power point tracking technique. The solar photovoltaic system uses a data based maximum power point technique to derive maximum power from solar photovoltaic array and maintains constant DC voltage by changing modulation index of voltage source converter. A dynamic voltage restorer with pulse width modulated control is introduced to mitigate unbalanced sag in grid voltage and current during fault conditions. Fuzzy logic control (FLC) has been implemented to maintain voltage at grid side for normal as well as for faulted conditions. Simulation results show that distortion in active and reactive power exchange among solar photovoltaic converter, load and grid is reduced during fault conditions. A reduction in total harmonic distortion for all temperature conditions, low and high solar radiation is observed in grid voltage and current. Apart from these, it has been observed that distortion in DC link voltage while deriving maximum power from photovoltaic array is considerably reduced by introducing fuzzy logic controlled dynamic voltage restorer in proposed system.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have studied how Corporate Social Responsibility can lead to the creation of better brand image and to understand the CSR activities carried down by Indian companies as a marketing strategy to build and sustain in a competitive advantage.
Abstract: Corporate Social Responsibility creates a landing place in the minds of the target consumers. Due to global competition, increase in media clutter, less differentiation in brand companies are using different tools to increase the value of intangible assets. CSR not only creates the Brand awareness among the consumers but also leads to a positive Brand Image in the minds of the potential consumers. Brands must be inspirational in a socially responsible way to its stakeholders. To achieve the same Corporate Social Responsibility has become more common business practices. Now a days companies are strategically using CSR as a Marketing tool. The purpose of this paper is to understand how Corporate Social Responsibility can lead to the creation of better brand image & to understand the CSR activities carried down by Indian companies as a marketing strategy to build and sustain in a competitive advantage. This study is based on secondary data, information, books, journals, magazines and research reports and web sites. Different types of conceptual information presented in the study is the result of observation, in depth reading, experiences and rational judgement of the author.

01 Jul 2019TL;DR: In this article, the assessment of potentially toxic elements contamination in surface soils of Kulsi River Basin in North East India has been studied based on the analysis of 50 soil samples collected from the basin.
Abstract: The assessment of potentially toxic elements’ contamination in surface soils of Kulsi River Basin in North East India has been studied based on the analysis of 50 soil samples collected from the basin. The average concentrations of Co (2.30 mg/kg), Ni (7.26 mg/kg), Pb (9.41 mg/kg), and Zn (22.7 mg/kg) surpassed the background levels prescribed for sedimentary rocks which indicated anthropogenic contribution of these metals. The average values of enrichment factors for different elements under study followed the order as Co > Ni > Zn > Pb > As > Fe > Cr. Results of multi-element indices revealed significant contamination at many sites; however, computed values for potential ecological risk index indicated only low ecological risk at all the sampling sites. The contribution of individual toxic elements toward the potential ecological risk followed the order as Co > Ni > As > Pb > Zn > Cr. The study recommends that suitable measures need to be taken for checking any further contamination in the area.
