TL;DR: A new method is proposed that supports the hand gesture recognition system in the static form, using SIFT feature extraction with feed forward neural network using MATLAB to extract the invariant features of gesture sign.
Abstract: Objectives: Its objective is to develop a system which can recognize specific human hand gesture features from images and use these features to convey information for machine such as HCI (Human Computer Interaction). Method: this paper represents that, we propose a new method that supports the hand gesture recognition system in the static form, using SIFT feature extraction with feed forward neural network using MATLAB . We use SIFT technique to extract the invariant features of gesture sign. We have developed a gesture recognition system using feed forward neural networks which could recognize a finger alphabet of different types of symbols and where each gesture specifies a word. Findings: In the process of hand gesture recognition system there are many challenges addressed as: Illuminance conditions such that a small change in the lighting conditions effects badly on extraction process like color from which may produce misclassification problem. In the various scenes when the hand region rotates in any direction then the rotation problem get arises. When there is complicated backgrounds like there are other objects in the image with hand poses, this may refer to the background problems. Scale or Size problem, this problem may occur when the hand poses have not same size in the gestured image. At last the transformation problem, like from different different images it’s difficult to represent features of various hand positions. Improvements: To remove theses hindrances we have to develop an algorithm that can effectively recognize the hand gestures. Hand gestures is one of the techniques used in security purposes and robot communication.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a Bragg grating based sensor to monitor health of civil structures at distinct temperatures, where increased number of gratings with suitable refractive index was considered to enhance sensitivity of fiber Bragg sensor.
Abstract: In this paper, we have proposed a Bragg grating based sensor to monitor health of civil structures at distinct temperatures. We have considered increased number of gratings with suitable refractive index to enhance sensitivity of fiber Bragg grating sensor. Analysis of Bragg wavelength with respect to load and temperature is successfully studied. The simulation results reveal that when independently strain (50 units per simulation) and temperature (25 °C) are increased uniformly, a linear shift in Bragg wavelength 0.064 and 0.347 nm is observed, respectively. Similarly, when both strain and temperature are increased (e = 50 & T = 25 °C) concurrently, a directly proportional relation is found in Bragg wavelength (0.403 nm). The results verify the enhanced performance of as-proposed sensor, employing it could be potentially used in civil, bio-medical and military domains.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors introduced IoT cloud-based predictive analytics mainly based on fuzzy cluster-focused augmentation and optimal SVM classification for forecasting breast cancer infection via regular inspection and enhancing the health services by giving healthcare guidelines.
Abstract: Early-stage detection of breast cancer disease and its accurate diagnosis have been always challenging for the healthcare professional. An IoT healthcare system can play a vital role in this field. The existing diagnosis technique does not efficiently identify breast cancer in the beginning phases, and many of the women struggled from such a deadly illness. In this research paper, we introduce IoT cloud-based predictive analytics mainly based on fuzzy cluster-focused augmentation and optimal SVM classification for forecasting breast cancer infection via regular inspection and enhancing the health services by giving healthcare guidelines. In the proposed model, the fuzzy clustering algorithm is being used for efficient image segmentation that mainly focused on transition region filtration. Besides that, fuzzy C-means clustering and optimal SVM are also applied to characterize the transition period region attributes and feature extraction. The experimental phase is divided into three parts: parameter optimization testing, feature selection, as well as optimal SVM. The experimental phase results reveal that the proposed enhanced SVM method performed outstandingly in terms of feature selection, precision, TPR, FPR, F1-score over existing machine learning methods, i.e., logistic regression, decision tree, and SVM method.

TL;DR: The effect is to beat the impact of fog attenuation on FSO system by assessment and execution through simulated results of the executed model with respect to Q factor, height of eye, power received and bit error rate.
Abstract: In the proposed model, effect of number of transmitters and receivers on performance of proposed free-space optical (FSO) communication system is simulated as well as analyzed under various weather conditions like clear, haze and fog. FSO communication provides a strong and efficient method for transmission and reception of information through free channels because of its higher data transfer capacity and inbuilt ability of security. The effect of environmental parameters has been investigated for range of 1 km. The effect of attenuation increases in bad weather conditions affecting the performance of FSO system while designing a system the weather conditions have to be taken care. The effect is to beat the impact of fog attenuation on FSO system by assessment and execution through simulated results of the executed model with respect to Q factor, height of eye, power received and bit error rate. The proposed multiple TX/RX FSO system shows better results as compared to the 1 TX/1 RX system.
