TL;DR: The use of chemical pesticides, fertilizers, and other volatile sprays in the agricultural practices threatening the healthy microbial population in the soil is also a threat to the soil health and removal of pollutants from the contaminated land as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: Microbial enzymes play a vital role to maintain the soil health and removal of pollutants from the contaminated land. Soil microflora is closely associated to maintain the fertility of the soil. Use of chemical pesticides, fertilizers and other volatile sprays in the agricultural practices threatening the healthy microbial population in the soil. Every single particle of healthy soil is loaded with millions of bacteria which interact with the nutrients available in the surrounding and sustain the nutrient cycle, and this microflora is an essential component of life on earth. The rapid increase in the industrialization and urbanization polluted the water and air heavily which affected the microbial populations and their existence too. Some microbes have been evolved to breakdown the complex toxic pollutants entering the soil into non-harmful components and helping to maintain the soil fertility. Thus, it is urgently needed to identify these microorganisms and enzymes which are involved in restoring the remediation of toxic substances and restoration of microflora required for a normal life.

TL;DR: A blockchain-enabled secure communication framework for delivering the goods in COVID-19 like scenarios by leveraging the drones that are available with commercial retail providers and the results prove the effectiveness of the proposed scheme based on gas price, transaction time, and mining time.
Abstract: COVID-19 made the world stop, with people trapped inside their homes and governments trying to restrict the public movement. However, to accomplish this, one big problem that emerged and outscored everything else was catering to the day to day necessary items of the people without human involvement. In this regard, we propose a blockchain-enabled secure communication framework for delivering the goods in COVID-19 like scenarios by leveraging the drones that are available with commercial retail providers. The blockchain scheme is used to create smart contracts to build the trust of buyers and sellers on the framework as the payments are made through the smart contract executions. The blockchain based order processing ensures the integrity and authenticity of the information. Moreover, a communication model is presented along with the order, delivery and payment phases. The results prove the effectiveness of the proposed scheme by evaluating it based on gas price, transaction time, and mining time.

01 Jan 2020TL;DR: An attempt has been made on the elucidation of structure, biosynthesis pathways, organization of biosynthetic gene clusters and scope of metabolic engineering with special emphasis on polyketides derived compounds of Streptomyces.
Abstract: Microorganisms are known to produce a plethora of secondary metabolites and enzymes. The genus Streptomyces, belonging to actinobacteria, is a natural source of diverse metabolites having numerous clinical, agricultural and biotechnological applications. These metabolites of Streptomyces are known for their biological roles such as cell-cell communication, morphogenesis, pathogen suppression, pest management, nutrient acquisitions, and several therapeutic applications. So far, chemical structures of less than 30 % of these compounds have been elucidated. In addition, the basic scaffolds of different secondary metabolites obtained from microorganisms are a source of inspiration for chemists. Recent developments in “gene to metabolites” and “metabolites to gene” based approaches have played a major role in mining and linking the structure and role of different genes in an operon responsible for their biosynthesis. Moreover, the advent of synthetic biology and genome editing tool is emerging as a key player in the exploration and metabolic engineering through the modulation of silent gene clusters for enhanced production and the discovery of new bioactive compounds. Keeping in view the importance of secondary metabolites of Streptomyces, an attempt has been made on the elucidation of structure, biosynthetic pathways, organization of biosynthetic gene clusters and scope of metabolic engineering with special emphasis on polyketides derived compounds of Streptomyces.
