Intradural rupture of lumbar intervertebral disc: report of three cases with review of the literature.

Abstract: The intradural herniated disc is a rare complication of disc herniation. A study of the literature shows that this location is often responsible for severe neurological deficit with loss of sphincter control and a complete block shown on the myelogram. We report three cases to demonstrate the radioclinical interpretation of intradural herniated disc and the possibility of definite and misleading symptoms.

Dépistage des porteurs d'anticorps antitétaniques chez les donneurs de sang

Abstract: Resume Un depistage de porteurs d'anticorps antitetaniques (AcAT) a ete effectue chez 4 770 donneurs de sang. Le pourcentage de sujets « positifs(taux d'AcAT ⩾ 5 U.I./ml par la technique de Laurell ) est relativement eleve : 6,62 %. L'etude statistique donne la repartition des porteurs d'AcAT selon differents facteurs : le test du x 2 a permis de conclure a une liaison non significative entre frequence de porteurs d'AcAT « positifset groupes sanguins ABO mais a une liaison significative entre frequence des porteurs d'AcAT « positifs , sexe et âge. Ces resultats sont en accord avec ceux de l'etude apres vaccination. L'avantage est double : la connaissance de l'etat de vaccination de la population de donneurs de sang avant toute vaccination permet d'orienter la collecte de serums « positifssans avoir a attendre la vaccination.

Abstract: After the “World Health Day 1972” with the slogan “Your Heart is Your Health”, announced by WHO and ISC, considerable effort has been undertaken world-wide to control themajor cardiovascular diseases, especially by preventive measures. Taking increasingly into consideration that cardiovascular disease is a social epidemic spreading from man to man and to women, from parent to chi ld , and from culture to culture it became obvious: there are life habits that have to be changed. On this way, it might be possible to keep those diseases from appearing, stopping them when already going on, and even reversing their progression. But this is not a simple vaccination like in some communicable diseases!
