TL;DR: In this paper, an account of the electrokinetic theory of surfaces covered with charged layers is given, and a new model is introduced for the distribution of fixed charges inside a surface layer.
Abstract: An account is given in this paper of the electrokinetic theory of surfaces covered with charged layers. Streaming current measurement is shown to be equivalent to electrophoretic mobility measurement. A new model is introduced for the distribution of fixed charges inside a surface layer. This model is helpful in obtaining an analytical solution to the problem without linearization of the Poisson-Boltzmann equation. Several distinct distributions are discussed in numerical terms. Also calculated are the surface conductivity and, consequently, the streaming potential. It is demonstrated that surfaces with charged layers can have extraordinarily high surface conductivities. A comparison between the theory and experimental data for glass is made.

TL;DR: Comparison of the IWC with TWC of the heart muscle shows that the increase of the volume density of the extracellular space during aging balances the age-dependent loss of myocytes to a certain extent.

TL;DR: It is concluded that calcium ions diffuse freely from the extracellular space and from adjacent cells into cells containing antimonate and are precipitated mostly at sites where heterogeneous nucleation is facilitated by intracellular catalysts (biopolymers).
Abstract: The precipitation patterns of the following ultracytochemical methods in rat muscle cells were compared and examined critically: the potassium pyroantimonate method for calcium demonstration; the calcium phosphate technique for the Ca2+ — ATPase reaction; the formazan reaction for the demonstration of creatine kinase activity (all performed on heart muscle); and the lead phosphate technique for the Mg2+ — ATPase reaction in skeletal muscle. Using X-ray microanalysis, it was found that the antimonate precipitate contains only calcium as the precipitated ion in the vast majority of cases. Most probably it consists of pure calcium pyroantimonate. However, in myocytes showing the well-established precipitation pattern, the concentration of calcium was estimated to be about two orders of magnitude higher than the native concentration of total intracellular calcium. It is concluded that calcium ions diffuse freely from the extracellular space and from adjacent cells into cells containing antimonate and are precipitated mostly at sites where heterogeneous nucleation is facilitated by intracellular catalysts (biopolymers).

TL;DR: Hypoxie and rasches Abkuhlen erwiesen sich als wichtige pathophysiologische Faktoren bei der Schweineleberkonservierung bei Lebertransplantationen am Schwein.
Abstract: Es erfolgten Lebertransplantationen am Schwein.

TL;DR: Alternative progressive strategies for specification of linear dynamic models are presented and linearity and exogeneity are successively introduced in that spirit, first at a global level, then at a sequential level.

TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that to a given side-payment game having an empty core one may associate two different no-side payment games with the same (nonempty) core: the envelope and the geometric cover.
Abstract: This paper deals with issues concerning the core as a solution concept for games in coalitional form as well as the use of these games in representing economies of a certain formal type. Side-payment games are imbedded in the more general class of no-side-payment games. It is shown that to a given side-payment game having an empty core one may associate two different no-side payment games with the same (nonempty) core: the "envelope" and the "geometrical cover". The discrepancy is explained in terms of market games.
