TL;DR: In this paper, a new closed loop AC to DC ĈUK converter is presented, which operates in four steps with a different combination of voltage polarities and switching states, and the feedback path consists of a voltage control loop and a current control loop.
Abstract: A new closed loop AC to DC ĈUK converter is presented in this paper. The conventional ĈUK AC to DC converter has no feedback circuit. Thereby, the output voltage of the converter changes while changing the load. The proposed closed loop converter can regulate voltage with the variation of load over a wide range. Moreover, the power factor and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the supply side current found quite satisfactory from this closed loop ĈUK converter. The converter operates in four steps with a different combination of voltage polarities and switching states. The feedback path consists of a voltage control loop and a current control loop. The closed loop ĈUK converter in this study is compared with the open loop version. Additionally, the comparison is made with the conventional converter of the same topology. The effectiveness in terms of power factor and THD of the proposed converter is verified using simulation results.

TL;DR: In this article, a vertical axis wind turbine has been designed and fabricated to perform the job of extracting energy from wind and an alternator was also fabricated and coupled with the turbine.
Abstract: Wind energy is the most available form of renewable energy among all the energy sources. Wind energy can be extracted by a wind turbine and can be converted into electrical energy using proper electricity generating apparatus. This paper is focused on a technique that can be used effectively for the purpose of converting the kinetic energy of wind into electrical energy. This process is completely friendly to environment and the cost associated with the fabrication is very little. In this research a vertical axis wind turbine has been designed and fabricated to perform the job of extracting energy from wind. The turbine is of Darrieus type with three twisted blades. For the conversion of mechanical energy from the turbine into electric current an alternator also fabricated and coupled with the turbine. This paper describes the whole procedure to build up a simple wind power system with vertical axis wind turbine and shows performance of such power system under various wind speed. The specialty of this system is its extremely simple arrangement and absence of any motion transmission.

TL;DR: An intelligent accident detection, location tracking and notification system that detects an accident immediately when it takes place and sends a notification message to the nearest police control room and hospital so that they can visit the link, find out the shortest route of the accident spot and take initiatives to speed up the rescue process.
Abstract: Advancement in transportation system has boosted speed of our lives. Meantime, road traffic accident is a major global health issue resulting huge loss of lives, properties and valuable time. It is considered as one of the reasons of highest rate of death nowadays. Accident creates catastrophic situation for victims, especially accident occurs in highways imposes great adverse impact on large numbers of victims. In this paper, we develop an intelligent accident detection, location tracking and notification system that detects an accident immediately when it takes place. Global Positioning System (GPS) device finds the exact location of accident. Global System for Mobile (GSM) module sends a notification message including the link of location in the google map to the nearest police control room and hospital so that they can visit the link, find out the shortest route of the accident spot and take initiatives to speed up the rescue process.

TL;DR: The experiment shows that the proposed method can detect the lane quickly and accurately and has been investigated under various illuminations in highway roads for detecting lane marking.
Abstract: Lane detection and tracking in highway road is one of the most crucial tasks for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Advanced driver assistance systems are being developed to assist driver in driving process reducing road accidents. In this paper we present efficient lane detection and tracking method in highway roads. To do this, the first step is camera calibration used to remove the effect of lens distortion. Next canny edge detection algorithm finds the edges of the images. Then an adaptive region of interest (ROI) is selected. The ROI is actually based on the triangular shape appeared at the bottom of the image. ROI removes the unwanted region. After that possible lane markings are identified using Hough transformation analysing lane candidate pixels. Once the lane candidate pixels along with the lane are found, these pixels are continuously scanned to obtain the best fit using linear regression analysis. The system has been investigated under various illuminations in highway roads for detecting lane marking. The experiment shows that the proposed method can detect the lane quickly and accurately.
