TL;DR: In this article, a particle-based method using smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) has been developed to solve geotechnical engineering problems caused by the large deformations of geomaterials.
Abstract: Geotechnical engineering is considered one of the oldest disciplines in civil engineering. To date, to extract hidden information, numerical simulations have been performed using the traditional grid-based numerical approach in the Eulerian framework. However, this may not capture some geotechnical engineering problems caused by the large deformations of geomaterials. Therefore, in this research, an attempt is made to develop a particle-based method using smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH), which has proven to be an effective option for modeling geomaterials, to solve these problems through running different sets of numerical simulations. The developed model is validated using some benchmark solutions and then two important geotechnical problems, namely the bearing capacity and seepage flow profiles, are simulated. The simulated results represent the actual scenario quite well. Also, the flow process in terms of the accumulated strain is evaluated at different times, with the model justifying the proposed approach for simulating geotechnical problems.

01 Feb 2019TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the analysis generation-mix data of Bangladesh and Australia and made the electricity generation comparison among both the countries depending upon their respective electricity demand and availability.
Abstract: Electricity is the key to development in and amongst all countries of the world. Its allocation has to be clearly monitored and continually built upon because of its increasing demand. The main source of electricity generation for ages remained fossil fuel but in present time it is decreasing rapidly and will very soon reach a null point. The hazardous effects of its pollutants are escalating to an uncontrollable limit. To undermine these effects one has to know about the generation demand and sources of each country. Only then one can shift towards sources that will equally produce the same amount or more of electricity and release fewer pollutants. This paper focuses on the analysis generation-mix data of Bangladesh and Australia. Optimal energy mix is required to generate electricity ranging from renewable to non-renewable resources. The choice of the generation sources of the respective countries depending upon the availability of the source has also been taken into account along with their generative capacities. In the end, the electricity generation comparison amongst both the countries depending upon their respective electricity demand and availability is made.

05 Jun 2020TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a hybrid system which combines photovoltaic systems, biomass and utility grid for the Matiranga Upazila in Khagracchari district in Bangladesh.
Abstract: This paper presents hybrid system, which combines photovoltaic systems, biomass and utility grid for the Matiranga Upazila in Khagracchari district in Bangladesh. The energy production of the photovoltaic system is inconsistent and the biomass can supply a constant but low supply all the time. So, the utility grid can mitigate energy demand during low supply from PV and biomass and set up energy balance. In this article, modelling and simulation of hybrid system are analysed. The hybrid system is simulated in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation results show the stable energy supply that can fulfill the energy demand by controlling the combination of photovoltaic power, biomass power, and utility grid power in the area.

TL;DR: Viterbi Coding techniques (Convolutional Encoding and Viterbi Decoding) have proved its efficient performances in use for all the modulation schemes.
Abstract: Advancing in communication technology, 5th Generation Wireless Communication System is playing a significant role. The 5th Generation wireless communication system involves different types of coding and modulation schemes for the better performances and efficient outputs. This paper analyzes the different coding schemes and modulation techniques and compares between them. The performances have been compared between the Turbo and Viterbi Coding Schemes. And the modulation techniques have been compared between QPSK and QAM modulation techniques. The QAM modulation scheme will be used for the users closer to the BTS (Base Transceiver Station). And QPSK modulation technique will be used for the users closer to the border of the cells. For both of the modulation techniques, both the coding schemes have been used and performances have been compared. Finally for all the modulation schemes, Viterbi Coding techniques (Convolutional Encoding and Viterbi Decoding) have proved its efficient performances in use.

26 Nov 2012TL;DR: An ontology (Fruit Ontology) is proposed of agricultural sub-domain which is designed with OWL Description Logic (DL) language and described the each steps of designing the “Fruit” ontology briefly.
Abstract: Agricultural knowledge is so distributed, heterogeneous and polymorphic that current web architecture may unable to find the desired search results. So ontology of semantic web architecture is used for better search results. Semantic web makes the data of the web machine understandable and ontology is the core step of semantic web technology. Ontology captures the domain knowledge in a generic way and provides a commonly agreed understanding of a domain. It helps the search engine to find out the meaningful and scientifically correct information. In this paper, an ontology (Fruit Ontology) is proposed of agricultural sub-domain which is designed with OWL Description Logic (DL) language. Agricultural ontology is used by many organizations for better agricultural information service (AIS) or for adapting reliable information and communication system in agriculture. This paper also describes the each steps of designing the “Fruit” ontology briefly. For designing ontology AGROVOC is used as the base vocabulary. AGROVOC is developed by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of United Nations which is used all over the world for indexing, retrieving and organizing data in agriculture information system.
