TL;DR: Steady state, Modal and Transient stability analyses are performed to show the improving effect of series shunt combined compensation on stability and capacity enhancement of EWIS.
Abstract: In this paper a comparative study has been performed between combined Thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC), Static VAR compensator (SVC) and combined TCSC, Static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) to enhance the steady state, dynamic state and transient state stability of East-West interconnected system (EWIS) of Bangladesh Power System (BPS). Two TCSCs are connected in series with both interconnectors and two SVCs and STATCOMs are connected alternatively in shunt mode at the receiving end of both interconnectors. Steady state, Modal and Transient stability analyses are performed to show the improving effect of series shunt combined compensation on stability and capacity enhancement of EWIS. In case of shunt compensation superiority of STATCOM is also shown in comparison to SVC. In both the cases of comparison series compensation level is kept identical for fair comparison.

TL;DR: In this article, a real-time driver monitoring system has been developed which analyses the driver's state in realtime and gives alert when drowsiness state increases The system gives three signal which includes safe, intermediate and drowsy state.
Abstract: Road accidents have become a concerning event Every year countless people die and many others suffer from fatal and non-fatal injuries due to road accidents A lot of these accidents are caused by the driver’s distraction of attention as well as micro sleep There is no doubt that driver’s drowsiness is one of the main reasons for road accidents People’s behavior changes when they feel drowsy and show visual symptoms like yawn So, drowsiness can be detected by analyzing driver’s behavior avoiding serious injuries Therefore, in this paper a real-time driver monitoring system has been developed which analyses the driver’s state in real-time and gives alert when drowsy state increases The system gives three signal which includes safe, intermediate and drowsy state The system observes eye and mouth state to detect drowsiness It measures Eye Aspect Ratio, Eye Closure Ratio and yawn rate It also detects head pose for monitoring driver’s attention The system achieves 97% accuracy on eye blink detection, 96% accuracy on yawn detection and 634% accuracy on head pose estimation In case of testing the combined system, XGBoost outperforms other classifiers The system runs at 15 fps speed on a computer which is fast enough for real-time surveillance

TL;DR: The experiments show that WebRTC is a capable building block for scalable live video conferencing within a web browser and provides the opportunity of establishing P2P connections within web, without additional plugins and third party software.
Abstract: Cost-effective large-scale real-time video broadcasting technology has remained out of reach despite tremendous efforts and technical innovations over the past two decades. Introduction of Internet Protocol (IP) Multicast and Unicast architecture were earlier attempts to tackle this problem. But serious complications regarding scalability and difficult deployment have dogged these attempts. In recent years peer-to-peer (P2P) based broadcast has emerged as a promising technique because this paradigm brings many unique advantages such as cost-effectiveness, easy deployment, scalability, resilience. While P2P applications such as file download and voice-over-IP have gained much popularity, video conferencing is still in its early stages. The aim of this paper is to introduce P2P VIDEO CONFERENCING SYSTEM BASED ON Web Real Time Communication (WebRTC). WebRTC provides the opportunity of establishing P2P connections within web, without additional plugins and third party software. This paper presents a scalable live video conferencing architecture designed based on WebRTC. Our experiments show that WebRTC is a capable building block for scalable live video conferencing within a web browser.

TL;DR: In this paper, a small pure drinking water system is proposed that uses available solar energy to address the issue of lack of fresh drinking water in isolated communities, which is one of the common problems around the world.
Abstract: Lack of fresh drinking water in isolated communities is one of the common problems around the world. The availability of pure drinking water is only 0.5% of total freshwater demand. The fresh drinking water situation in Bangladesh is alarming especially in isolated regions. Most of the isolated and rural regions are using underground water for drinking and cooking. However, the majority of the underground water TDS level is as high as 2000–7000 mg/l, which is really harmful to human health as allowable limit is 1000 mg/l. To address this issue, a small pure drinking water system is proposed that uses available solar energy. The system is designed with reverse osmosis process for rural or isolated communities to facility he pure drinking water demand in the regions. The renowned island Sandwip has been chosen to implement the system as it is one the isolated region’s in Bangladesh. It was that the water purification cost of the scheme becomes as low as $0.002/litre, which is cost-effective than present existing pure drinking water system in Bangladesh. The cost of electricity found to be as low as $0.13/kWh for evening lighting.

TL;DR: An economic study of standard IEEE 9 BUS power system is presented, some intelligent modification to this system has been incorporated aiming to minimize cost with maximum supply of power and optimal power flow is represented based on ELD optimization using MATPOWER as simulation software.
Abstract: Advancement of modern civilization lead to rise in uses of electrical energy for which power industry needed to install ample amount of power to feed the increasing demand. To distribute the generated power among large amount of unit economically with minimum cost a faster divergent technique Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) is introduced. It is a basic tool pertains to optimum generation scheduling of an available generation in an interconnected power system to reduce the cost of generation subject to relevant system constraints. In this paper, an economic study of standard IEEE 9 BUS power system is presented. Furthermore, some intelligent modification to this system has been incorporated aiming to minimize cost with maximum supply of power. Finally, optimal power flow of modified IEEE 9 BUS system is represented based on ELD optimization using MATPOWER as simulation software.
