TL;DR: A boundary based contour algorithm, area and aspect ratio have been proposed to track down the license plate in the vehicle region and template matching has been used for recognizing the characters and the digits of the Bangla license plate.
Abstract: Though license plate detection and recognition system has a lot of applications but a very little work has been done on Bangla license plate recognition. Variations among the license plate patterns and complex background of Bangladeshi license plates make it more difficult to use the existing algorithms. Because of this, we propose a solution for Bangla license plate detection and recognition. Firstly, the position of the vehicle is determined. In our country, commercial License Plates have the unique color (green) of its own. That's why; we select the portions of green color with the matching RGB intensity of the plate. A boundary based contour algorithm, area and aspect ratio have been proposed to track down the license plate in the vehicle region. License plate rows containing registration information have been separated by using horizontal projection with threshold. The characters and the digits of the rows have been segmented using vertical projection with threshold value. Finally, template matching has been used for recognizing the characters and the digits of the Bangla license plate. We tested our algorithms for over 180 still images captured from the road. We achieve93% success in license plate detection, 98.1% success in segmentation and 88.8% success rate in Bangla license plate recognition.

TL;DR: An Android based application that detects an accidental situation and sends emergency alert message to the nearest police station and health care center and is integrated with an external pressure sensor to extract the outward force of the vehicle body.
Abstract: Vehicle accident is the paramount thread for the people's life which causes a serious wound or even dead. The automotive companies have made lots of progress in alleviating this thread, but still the probability of detrimental effect due to an accident is not reduced. Infringement of spFieed is one of the elementary reasons for a vehicle accident. Therewithal, external pressure and change of tilt angle with road surface blameworthy for this mishap. As soon as the emergency service could divulge about an accident, the more the effect would be mitigated. For this purpose, we developed an Android based application that detects an accidental situation and sends emergency alert message to the nearest police station and health care center. This application is integrated with an external pressure sensor to extract the outward force of the vehicle body. It measures speed and change of tilt angle with GPS and accelerometer sensors respectively on Android phone. By checking conditions, this application also capable of reducing the rate of false alarm.

TL;DR: In this article, the structural, elastic, electronic, optical and thermodynamics properties of sulvanite compounds were investigated using a different calculation code than that used by other workers and the results are compared.
Abstract: We present a systematic first-principles study of the structural, elastic, electronic, optical and thermodynamics properties of the sulvanite compounds Cu3TMS4 (TM = V, Nb and Ta). The structural, elastic and electronic properties are in fact revisited using a different calculation code than that used by other workers and the results are compared. The band gaps are found to be 1.041, 1.667 and 1.815 eV for Cu3VS4, Cu3NbS4 and Cu3TaS4, respectively which are comparable to other available calculated results. The optical properties such as dielectric function, refractive index, photoconductivity, absorption coefficients, reflectivity and loss function have been calculated for the first time. The calculated results are compared with the limited measured data on energy dependent refractive index and reflectivity coefficient available only for Cu3TaS4. All the materials are dielectric, transparent in the visible range. The values of plasma frequencies are found to be 15.36, 15.58 and 15.64 eV for Cu3VS4, Cu3NbS4 and Cu3TaS4, respectively. Furthermore, following the quasi-harmonic Debye model, the temperature effect on the bulk modulus, heat capacity, and Debye temperature is calculated reflecting the anharmonic phonon effects and these are compared with both experimental and other theoretical data where available.
