TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of cooperative communication with LDPC codes over non-cooperative or direct communication in Rayleigh fading channel was analyzed and a traditional three node model was developed to analyze the performance where relay helps to do the cooperative communication.
Abstract: Cooperative communication represents a way of achieving diversity in wireless network. Cooperative coding is a channel code that exploits user cooperation gains. In this paper we present LDPC codes that have the capability of providing full cooperation diversity, while achieving maximum possible diversity gain and coding gain. We analyze the performance of cooperative communication with LDPC codes over noncooperative or direct communication in Rayleigh fading channel. A traditional three node model is developed to analyze the performance where relay helps to do the cooperative communication. We illustrate that cooperative LDPC codes offers more than 3 dB gain over direct transmission in the high SNR region for MPSK and MQAM modulation even when the inter-user channel is noisy.

TL;DR: In this article, the potential contributors to online technology in academic writing and designs a policy for using online technology were explored and a mini-experiment was conducted at the Department of Economics, Government Edward College, Pabna, Bangladesh.
Abstract: This study explores the potential contributors to online technology in academic writing and designs a policy for using online technology. Focus group discussion and the survey (n = 151) were used for variable selection, questionnaire development, and data collection. A mini-experiment was conducted at the Department of Economics, Government Edward College, Pabna, Bangladesh and the survey was conducted at seven different colleges also in Pabna district. Students’ socio-economic-demographic characteristics like age, gender, religion, students’ parent income, students’ daily expenses, household composition, and level of education are major influential determinants of effective usage of online technology. Tutorial sessions for using online technology in writing, cost-effective internet package for students, institutional and infrastructural supports, motivation, students’ residential location, and electronic gadgets provided to the students at a subsidized price are important contributors to use online technology. Online technology-aided academic writing is a joint effort of students, teachers, college administration, University authority, and the Government.

TL;DR: This paper elucidates the design and construction of a low-cost Universal Serial Bus (USB) based electrical parameters monitoring system (EPMS) to measure various types of electrical parameters with visualization.
Abstract: Due to the increasing demand for monitoring electrical parameters in real time, many efforts have been recently made to develop different efficient data monitoring systems. This paper elucidates the design and construction of a low-cost Universal Serial Bus (USB) based electrical parameters monitoring system (EPMS) to measure various types of electrical parameters with visualization. In industry, it is essential to measure, acquire, and analyze generated or supplied AC RMS, peak or instantaneous voltage and frequency for different load conditions. In this research, a high-precision, cost-effective EPMS system is designed with a PIC18F4550 microcontroller, which is capable of performing these measurements. The designed EPMS has been tested with an application program developed in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, which allows real-time monitoring and display of the parameters.

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical investigation was carried out to explore the aerodynamic characteristics of pentagonal and hexagonal shaped bridge decks, and a relative comparison of steady state aerodynamic responses was made and the flow field was critically analyzed.
Abstract: Aerodynamics of the long-span bridge deck should be well understood for an efficient design of the bridge system. For practical bridges various deck shapes are being recommended and adopted, yet not all of their aerodynamic behaviors are well interpreted. In the present study, a numerical investigation was carried out to explore the aerodynamic characteristics of pentagonal and hexagonal shaped bridge decks. A relative comparison of steady state aerodynamic responses was made and the flow field was critically analyzed for better understanding the aerodynamic responses. It was found that the hexagonal shaped bridge deck has better aerodynamic characteristics as compared to the pentagonal shaped bridge deck.

TL;DR: The proposed method may become robust against the different attacks, such as JPEG compression, salt and pepper noise, Gaussian noise, speckle noise, Poisson noise, contrast adjustment, and different filtering, etc.
Abstract: The quality of the watermarking technique greatly depends on the selection of the watermark structure and insertion strategy. In the problem of watermarking, the involved two main constraints are those of maintaining the robustness of the watermark information while keeping the visual perception of the original image intact. For this purpose, the most important properties are robustness and invisibility. The main objective of the proposed algorithm is to improve the perceptual quality of the watermarked image without violating its robustness against the different attacks. The host image is being divided into four non-overlapping multi-resolution sub-bands by applying Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). In the proposed algorithm, horizontal detail region of the host image is being chosen for embedding the watermark. The DWT is also applied to the watermark and its approximation region is chosen to embed into the host image as this region has the most visual perceptual quality for human eyes. At the same time, the approximation of the host image found after 3-level DWT is added to the approximation region of the watermark before embedding. As the level of DWT increased, an image is being decomposed into much lower frequency. The approximation after 3-level DWT contains a very low frequency and high amplitude value. So, in this region image, quality is almost same to the original image. This will make the host image more noticeable than the watermark image and increase imperceptibility of the watermark. A secret key is used for embedding and the same key is used in the extraction process. The proposed method may become robust against the different attacks, such as JPEG compression, salt and pepper noise, Gaussian noise, speckle noise, Poisson noise, contrast adjustment, and different filtering, etc.
