01 Dec 2017TL;DR: In this article, a new type of optical fiber known as Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) is proposed and optical properties like confinement loss and dispersion are extracted for long distance secure data transmission, Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), ass Dispersion Compensating Fiber (DCF) and other telecommunication applications.
Abstract: In the era of modern optical communication, a new types of fiber known as Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) has entered as an emerging research area with its unique and splendid optical properties and design flexibility. PCF structures are composed of an arrangement of holes where different position or diameter of these holes is liable for different optical properties. In the past study, researchers have proposed several regular or irregular structures with different shapes like Hexagonal, Octagonal, Circular, Spiral, Honeycomb etc. due to its enormous design flexibility. In this research, a novel PCF structure of Venus geometry is proposed and optical properties like confinement loss and dispersion are extracted. For design and simulation purpose of the proposed structure, COMSOL Multiphysics software is used. For better light confinement in any cladding holes, defect is created using perturb material and low confinement loss is obtained within S+C+L+U wavelength bands. Variations in cladding holes made the proposed fiber to exhibit large negative dispersion within the wavelength range 1.5pm to 1.7pm This structure would be a promising candidate for long distance secure data transmission, Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), ass Dispersion Compensating Fiber (DCF) and other telecommunication applications.

11 Jul 2019TL;DR: An automated bidirectional business concept is introduced where both buyers and sellers are benefited at the same time in rural areas where people sell biogas from their microBiogas plant through the automated grid.
Abstract: At present, most of the people in rural areas use biomass such as wood, cow dung, jute sticks or other agricultural wastes for cooking in the clay stoves. Those traditional clay stoves not only inefficient but also poorly ventilated. As a result, they produce fine particles, aromatic hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and dioxins that cause air pollution. However, traditional biogas system accomplished in developing countries and some least developed countries (e.g. Bangladesh) are not automated. In this paper, an automated bidirectional business concept is introduced where both buyers and sellers are benefited at the same time in rural areas. In this community business model, people sell biogas from their micro biogas plant through the automated grid. This research is a master-slave wireless system based on Arduino that incorporates with payment system via a mobile application. RF pair along with transmitter and receiver is used in order to get transmitting and receiving biogas quantity and other signals for every user. In addition, an analytic calculation is done for the performance test of the proposed system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the bandgap energy, velocity of carrier, density of state (DOS) and capacity of the reservoir were calculated for m = 3p+1 and m=3p structures, assuming reservoir length in nanometer scale.
Abstract: Graphene nanoribbon (GNR) is designed for demonstrating electronic properties is made by cutting narrow strip of monolayer graphene is a centre of all materials in nano science based research work. Armchair GNR (A-GNR) which is now used because it shows semiconducting properties than its other behavior. Bandgap energy, velocity of carrier, density of state (DOS) which are the basic features in observing semiconducting properties of materials. Another important feature which is silently discussed in literature is that “reservoir” is a source of charge carrier into nano scale channel has a larger amount of DOS than in A-GNR. In this paper we will observe the bandgap energy, velocity of carrier in A-GNR and DOS in AGNR and reservoir assuming reservoir length in nanometer scale. We will also calculate above mentioned parameter for m=3p+1 and m=3p structures. Keywords—Graphene nanoribbon, bandgap energy, velocity density of state, reservoir.

05 Jan 2021TL;DR: In this paper, a real-time monitoring mechanism was proposed to find the illegal trash throwing person for an intelligent surveillance system, where shadow removal technique and background subtraction procedure were applied.
Abstract: Some people are too ignorant of their surroundings. Most of them, usually, throw trash illegally in the streets or abandoned areas. In this paper, to get rid of such a problem, we have proposed a real-time monitoring mechanism to find the illegal trash throwing person for an intelligent surveillance system. The proposed mechanism of finding people and trash from the video frame can be done using subsequently applying the following several steps. At first, we have applied the shadow removal technique and then applied the background subtraction procedure. To reduce the noise levels, we have implemented labeling & filtering operations. For extracting feature vectors, a histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) is used. Finally, by applying a support vector machine classifier (SVM), we have identified both humans and trash from the video frames. The key contribution of this proposed framework is to gain better performance by applying the shadow removal technique before the background subtraction procedure. Besides, the temporary bounding box concept has been taken into consideration during the trash detection phase.
