TL;DR: A `fault current' (due to asymmetric faults) analysis and comparisons between HVAC and HVDC transmission system are presented and a comparison of the simulation output-lower fault current, less fault effect, better performance & higher reliability is demonstrated for HVDD transmission system.
Abstract: `Fault current' is the flow of abnormal current through an improper path due to electric faults which causes enormous damages. In HVAC transmission system, Fault current due to electric faults is too large which affects the overall power system including-Receiving & Sending end bus, Transmission system, Load and even also the Power Generation Unit. HVDC transmission system dramatically reduces these effects, as the fault current due to electric faults is much lower, and only affects the individual faulty section of the overall transmission system. In favor of HVDC system, this paper presents a `fault current' (due to asymmetric faults) analysis and comparisons between HVAC and HVDC transmission system. MATLAB (Simulink) simulation software is used to simulate both HVAC & HVDC power transmission system topologies. From the comparison of the simulation output-lower fault current, less fault effect, better performance & higher reliability is demonstrated for HVDC transmission system.

TL;DR: A Rule-Based Expert System (RBES) is proposed which involves five different Belief Rules, and can predict five different stages of CAD, and has higher a success rate and false omission rate than other existing CDSSs.
Abstract: The coronary artery disease (CAD) occurs from the narrowing and damaging of major blood vessels or arteries. It has become the most life-threatening disease in the world, especially in the South Asian region. Its detection and treatment involve expensive medical facilities. The early detection of CAD, which is a major challenge, can minimize the patients’ suffering and expenses. The major challenge for CAD detection is incorporating numerous factors for detailed analysis. The goal of this study is to propose a new Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) which may assist doctors in analyzing numerous factors more accurately than the existing CDSSs. In this paper, a Rule-Based Expert System (RBES) is proposed which involves five different Belief Rules, and can predict five different stages of CAD. The final output is produced by combining all BRBs and by using the Evidential Reasoning (ER). Performance evaluation is measured by calculating the success rate, error rate, failure rate and false omission rate. The proposed RBES has higher a success rate and false omission rate than other existing CDSSs.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a comprehensive review of the current hydropower potential in Bangladesh and evaluated different technologies used for hydro-power generation in different locations having hydro power potential.
Abstract: Current environmental catastrophes generating from fossil fuel power generation has attracted the attention of energy planners to look for sustainable energy sources. Hydropower is one of the oldest energy sources that have been utilized all over the world to generate electricity, especially in remote areas. Being one of the most densely populated countries, the majority of power demand is fulfilled from fossil fuel. Despite having lots of rivers, Bangladesh has not explored its true potential. So, this paper presents a comprehensive review of the current hydropower potential in Bangladesh. Locations having hydropower potential is evaluated. Different technologies used for hydropower generation have been reviewed. Moreover, global hydropower potential has also been discussed in this study. Based on the economic and environmental study, it is found that small scale hydropower is most feasible in Bangladesh to provide sustainable energy. With a reasonable flow rate, 232 rivers of Bangladesh can be utilized small scale hydropower generation as well as ensuring energy security for remote people. The current study is believed to provide useful information in advancing the generation of hydropower based electricity in Bangladesh.

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of a modified Savonius wind turbine was investigated by using ANSYS-Fluent for computational analysis using a 2-dimensional rotor blade model.
Abstract: This study is conducted to investigate the performance of a modified Savonius wind turbine. A 2-dimensional rotor blade model is introduced for computational analysis using ANSYS-Fluent. To make the analysis, Shear-Stress Transport (SST) k-ω turbulence model is used to conduct the analysis. The proposed modified model is compared with a reference model. The coefficient of power (CP), coefficient of torque (CT), and total power (P) for several tip speed ratio (TSR) is evaluated considering single rotation. The proposed model depicted its best performance for all parameters at TSR = 1.1 than the reference conventional model (TSR = 0.7). Furthermore, the proposed model also surpasses the performance of the conventional one at TSR = 0.7. The optimal torque was found 7.02 N-m, which is 62.5% higher than the traditional design.

TL;DR: This paper proposes aspatial skyline query for groups of users located at different positions that selects a set of spatial objects to fulfil the groups’ needs and performs several extensive experiments to show the effectiveness of this approach.
Abstract: A skyline query finds objects that are not dominatedby another object from a given set of objects. Skylinequeries can filter unnecessary information efficiently andprovide us important clues for various decision makingtasks. Now a days, GPS devices and location based servicesare very popular and they can easily connect users andmake groups. Conventional skyline queries are not sufficientto obtain valuable knowledge to fulfil the needs of suchgroups. Considering this fact, in this paper, we proposed aspatial skyline query for groups of users located at differentpositions. Our proposed skyline query algorithm selects a setof spatial objects to fulfil the groups’ needs. For example, ifa group wants to find a restaurant to hold a meeting, ourmethod can select a convenient place for all users of thegroup. We performed several extensive experiments to showthe effectiveness of our approach.
