TL;DR: The results suggest that cadmium-mediated ROS generation causes PARP activation and energy depletion, and eventually induces autophagy through the activation of LKB1-AMPK signaling and the down-regulation of mTOR in skin epidermal cells.

TL;DR: In this paper, well-dispersed flower-like ZnO microstructures were synthesized by hydrothermal method for solid state gas sensor applications, and the response for NO2 was higher than the CO, ethanol and acetaldehyde at low operating temperatures.
Abstract: In the present work, flower-like ZnO microstructures were used for solid state gas sensor applications. Well-dispersed flower-like ZnO microstructures were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The size of flower-like ZnO microstructures was about 5–7 μm in radius and they were made up of dozen of ZnO nanorods building block units. Gas sensing device was prepared by thick film technology and tested primarily for NO2 gas at different testing temperatures as well as concentrations. Response increased with gas concentration as well as temperature (except 400 °C). Further, it showed response for 10 ppm of NO2 gas at room temperature. The response for NO2 was higher than the CO, ethanol and acetaldehyde at low operating temperatures. These flower-like ZnO microstructures showed some sort of selectivity for NO2 below 300 °C.

TL;DR: These findings demonstrate the plasticity and training induced redistribution of the visuospatial attentional network in TBI patients.
Abstract: Background. This study aimed to delineate the cerebral attentional network in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and assess for adaptations in this network in response to a rehabilitation intervention. Methods. Seventeen patients with TBI and 15 healthy subjects underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) using a visuospatial attention task. Ten TBI patients who successfully completed attentional training had a follow-up fMRI. Results. In the TBI patients, fMRI analysis showed more activation in the frontal and temporoparietal lobes, as well as less activation in the anterior cingulated gyrus, SMA, and temporooccipital regions compared to the healthy subjects. Following cognitive training, the TBI patients improved performance of attention tasks accompanied by changes in attentional network activation; the activity of the frontal lobe decreased, whereas activation of the anterior cingulate cortices and precuneus increased. Conclusions. These findings demonstrate the plasticity and train...

TL;DR: In this article, a reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/TiO2 nanorod composite was proposed for Membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI), which achieved high reversibility, excellent cycling stability, full regeneration and distinguished electrosorptive capacity.
