TL;DR: Clinical, electrographic and histologic findings suggest that focal CDLs (FCDLs) are highly epileptogenic, often involve the rolandic cortex, and can present variable degrees of histopathologic abnormalities.
Abstract: Cortical dysplastic lesions (CDLs) are usually identified by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Clinical, electrographic and histologic findings suggest that focal CDLs (FCDLs) are highly epileptogenic, often involve the rolandic cortex, and can present variable degrees of histopathologic abnormalities. An ictal or "ictal-like" bursting pattern of electrographic activity was recorded over dysplastic cortex in 65% of our patients. Resective surgery can eliminate or significantly reduce seizure frequency in many medically intractable patients, depending on lesion location, degree, and extent of histopathologic abnormalities. Best results are achieved when complete or major excision of both the MRI-visible lesion and the cortical areas displaying ictal electrographic activity can be performed. This is more likely when the degree of histopathologic abnormality is mild to moderate or when the lesion is in a temporal lobe. More severe histopathologic abnormalities and central insular or multilobar lesions usually lead to less favorable results: either major excision of the visualized lesion is impractical or the lesion is microscopically more extensive than shown by MRI. Multilobar resection or hemispherectomy for patients with infantile spasms associated with CDLs and for patients with hemimegalencephaly are often associated with dramatic improvement in seizure control. Callosotomy can be performed in selected patients with diffuse CDLs who have intractable drop attacks.

TL;DR: In this article, a simple, efficient and cost-effective approach for the simultaneous reduction, surface modification and stitching of graphene oxide (GO) using ethylenediamine is described, and the effect of stitched graphene on the mechanical properties of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)-based composites is also investigated.
Abstract: A simple, efficient and cost-effective approach for the simultaneous reduction, surface modification and stitching of graphene oxide (GO) using ethylenediamine is described. The effect of stitched graphene on the mechanical properties of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)-based composites was also investigated. Ethylamine was used to produce unstitched graphene, of which structures and properties were compared to those of stitched graphene. The surface modification of GO with ethylamine or ethylenediamine can easily take place under mild conditions. The reduced GO (rGO) shows good crystalline behavior and high electrical conductivity (∼1075 S m−1). The removal of epoxide, carboxyl and hydroxyl groups from GO by ethylamine or ethylenediamine was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared, Raman and photoelectron spectroscopy. The microstructures were analyzed by atomic force microscopy and transmission electron microscopy revealing stitching and crystalline behavior of the rGO. Compared to other reported methods, the reduction of GO with ethylamine and ethylenediamine is a preferable route for large-scale production of functionalized graphene. It was found that the storage modulus of the ethylenediamine functionalized GO (3 wt%)–LLDPE composites is significantly higher than that of pure LLDPE or ethylamine functionalized GO reinforced composites in the studied temperature range (−70 to 90 °C).

TL;DR: Bibong metabasites have internal isochron ages at 225-258 Ma and the major elements of the metabasites display an island arc affinity as mentioned in this paper, and the petrochemical and geochronological data suggest the southwestern part of the Gyeonggi massif as an extension of the Triassic Dabie-Sulu collision belt in China.
Abstract: Metabasite lenses occur within granitic gneiss at Bibong in the southwestern part of the Gyeonggi massif, South Korea. Bibong metabasites experienced an initial eclogite facies metamorphism (17.0–20.9 kbar, 835°–860°C), which was succeeded by a granulite facies metamorphism (11.5–14.6 kbar, 830°–850°C) and finally overprinted by an amphibolite facies metamorphism (6.7–11.0 kbar, 570°–740°C). The metabasites have Sm‐Nd internal isochron ages at 225–258 Ma, and the major elements of the metabasites display an island arc affinity. The petrochemical and geochronological data suggest the southwestern part of the Gyeonggi massif as an extension of the Triassic Dabie‐Sulu collision belt in China.
