Abstract: The K-shell X-ray intensity ratios, radiative and total vacancy transfer probablities of platinum, gold, and lead are measured by employing the 2π-geometrical configuration and a weak gamma source, a simple method proposed previously by our group. The targets of Pt, Au, and Pb were excited using γ-rays of weighted energy 123.6 keV from a weak 57Co source and the emitted K-shell X-rays were detected using an HPGe X-ray detector spectrometer coupled to a 16k multichannel analyzer. The measured values of these parameters are compared with the theoretical values and experimental data of other researchers, finding a good agreement. Thus, the 2π-geometrical configuration method with a weak gamma source can be alternative simple method to measure various atomic parameters in the field of X-ray spectroscopy.

Abstract: Nowadays, diet and exercise recommender frameworks have gaining expanding consideration because of their importance for living healthy lifestyle. Due of the expanded utilization of the web, people obtain the applicable wellbeing data with respect to their medicinal problem and available medications. Since diseases have a strong relationship with food and exercise, it is especially essential for the patients to focus on adopting good food habits and normal exercise routine. Most existing systems on the diet concentrate on proposals that recommend legitimate food items by considering their food choices or medical issues. These frameworks provide functionalities to monitor nutritional requirement and additionally suggest the clients to change their eating conduct in an interactive way. We present a review of diet and physical activity recommendation frameworks for people suffering from specific diseases in this paper. We demonstrate the advancement made towards recommendation frameworks helping clients to find customized, complex medical facilities or make them available some preventive services measures. We recognize few challenges for diet and exercise recommendation frameworks which are required to be addressed in sensitive areas like health care.

Abstract: Electrochemically deposited ZnO nanoparticles on a pencil graphite electrode (PGE) coated with graphene generate a noteworthy conductive and selective electrochemical sensing electrode for the estimation of cortisol. Electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis and electrochemical impedance spectroscopic (EIS) tests were adopted to analyze and understand the nature of the modified sensor. Surface morphological analysis was done using various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques like X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Structural characterization was conducted by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The effect of scan rate, concentration, and cycle numbers was optimized and reported. Differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) analysis reveals that the linear range for the detection of cortisol is 5 × 10−10M − 115 × 10−10 M with a very low-level limit of detection value (0.15 nM). The demonstrated methodology has been excellently functional for the determination of salivary cortisol non-enzymatically at low-level concentration with enhanced selectivity despite the presence of interfering substances.

Abstract: Bismuth oxide with its unique narrow bandgap has gained significant attention in the field of photocatalysis. A new and efficient method to synthesise bismuth oxide with tuneable properties is proposed herein. A surfactant assisted modified sol–gel method is used to synthesise bismuth oxide with excellent photocatalytic activity for the degradation of Rhodamine B dye. Three different surfactants, namely polyethylene glycol-400, sodium lauryl sulfate, and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) have been used. The fabricated bismuth oxide nanoparticles were characterised by X-ray diffraction, IR, scanning electron microscopy, and UV-diffuse reflectance spectroscopy analysis. Evolution of both the α and β crystalline phases of bismuth oxide was observed. The bandgap of the synthesised bismuth oxides ranges from 2.03 to 2.37 eV. The CTAB assisted synthesised bismuth oxide with a bandgap of 2.19 eV showed the highest photocatalytic activity of 93.6 % under visible light for the degradation of Rhodamine B. This bismuth oxide based catalyst opens a new avenue for efficient photocatalysis for environmental remediation.
