TL;DR: A crime analytics platform is developed, which processes newsfeed data analysis for different types of crimes and identify crime hotspots using Kernel Density Estimation method, and enables criminologists to understand the hidden relationships between crime and geographical locations.
Abstract: Crime is the most common social problem faced in a developing country. Crime affects the reputation of a nation and the quality of life of its citizens. Crime also affects the economy of the country, increasing the financial burden of the government due to the need for expenditure in
the police force and judicial system. Various initiatives are taken by law enforcement to reduce the crime rate. One such initiative, real-time accurate crime predictions can help reduce the occurrence of crime. In this paper, a crime analytics platform is developed, which processes newsfeed
data analysis for different types of crimes and identify crime hotspots using Kernel Density Estimation method. This system enables criminologists to understand the hidden relationships between crime and geographical locations. Interactive visualization features are available that enable law
enforcement agencies to predict crime.

17 Mar 2016TL;DR: In this article, a new method of grounding which uses Flyash and Bentonite is proposed and the performance is analyzed by various standard methods and the results show that the performance of the proposed method is better than that of natural grounding.
Abstract: In modern era of power systems, generation, transmission and distribution is well operated and maintained to satisfy the demand and supply management. Various problems are faced every day in all the power system areas. One among the problems faced in all the high voltage electrical equipment's is grounding. Natural grounding is done using charcoal and salt to maintain the less resistance in the grounding pit but the less resistance grounding pit becomes high resistive area due to various reasons like improper maintenance, charcoal and salt getting dissolved in soil after some period of time. In this paper a new method of grounding which uses Flyash and Bentonite is proposed and the performance is been analyzed by various standard methods.
