TL;DR: In this article, the adsorption behavior of ppb-level aqueous solutions of hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] on four different adsorbents was investigated as a function of pH, contact time, initial Cr(VI) concentration, adsorbent dose, and the copresence of competing anions.

TL;DR: Cryptococcus neoformans is generally considered to be an opportunistic fungal pathogen because of its tendency to infect immunocompromised individuals, particularly those infected with HIV as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Cryptococcus neoformans is generally considered to be an opportunistic fungal pathogen because of its tendency to infect immunocompromised individuals, particularly those infected with HIV. However, this view has been challenged by the recent discovery of specialized interactions between the fungus and its mammalian hosts, and by the emergence of the related species Cryptococcus gattii as a primary pathogen of immunocompetent populations. In this Review, we highlight features of cryptococcal pathogens that reveal their adaptation to the mammalian environment. These features include not only remarkably sophisticated interactions with phagocytic cells to promote intracellular survival, dissemination to the central nervous system and escape, but also surprising morphological and genomic adaptations such as the formation of polyploid giant cells in the lung.

TL;DR: Although ACS increases with %DS, most precursors of ACS cases and culprit lesions are nonobstructive, and plaque evaluation, including HRP, PB, and plaque composition, identifies high-risk patients above and beyond stenosis severity and aggregate plaque burden.

TL;DR: In this paper, a conceptual system framework for construction defect management that integrates ontology and augmented reality (AR) with building information modeling (BIM) is proposed to facilitate defect measures and rectifications as well as reduce the reoccurrence of the defect.
