TL;DR: This study describes the fabrication of a novel hybrid metal-organic framework- organic polymer (MOF-polymer) for use as a stationary phase in fritless solid-phase microextraction (SPME) for validating analytical methods.
Abstract: This study describes the fabrication of a novel hybrid metal–organic framework– organic polymer (MOF–polymer) for use as a stationary phase in fritless solid-phase microextraction (SPME) for validating analytical methods. The MOF–polymer was prepared by using ethylene dimethacrylate (EDMA), butyl methacrylate (BMA), and an imidazolium-based ionic liquid as porogenic solvent followed by microwave-assisted polymerization with the addition of 25 % MOF. This novel hybrid MOF–polymer was used to extract penicillin (penicillin G, penicillin V, oxacillin, cloxacillin, nafcillin, dicloxacillin) under different conditions. Quantitative analysis of the extracted penicillin samples using the MOF–organic polymer for SPME was conducted by using capillary electrochromatography (CEC) coupled with UV analysis. The penicillin recovery was 63–96.2 % with high reproducibility, sensitivity, and reusability. The extraction time with the proposed fabricated SPME was only 34 min.

TL;DR: A focused library of furanopyrimidine was rapidly synthesized in parallel reactors and in situ screened for Aurora and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) kinase activity, leading to the identification of some interesting hits.
Abstract: A focused library of furanopyrimidine (350 compounds) was rapidly synthesized in parallel reactors and in situ screened for Aurora and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) kinase activity, leading to the identification of some interesting hits. On the basis of structural biology observations, the hit 1a was modified to better fit the back pocket, producing the potent Aurora inhibitor 3 with submicromolar antiproliferative activity in HCT-116 colon cancer cell line. On the basis of docking studies with EGFR hit 1s, introduction of acrylamide Michael acceptor group led to 8, which inhibited both the wild and mutant EGFR kinase and also showed antiproliferative activity in HCC827 lung cancer cell line. Furthermore, the X-ray cocrystal study of 3 and 8 in complex with Aurora and EGFR, respectively, confirmed their hypothesized binding modes. Library construction, in situ screening, and structure-based drug design (SBDD) strategy described here could be applied for the lead identification of other kinases.

TL;DR: In this article, a voltage-mode universal biquadratic filter with one input and five outputs is presented, which offers the following features: high input impedance, realizing all the standard filter functions; lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch and allpass, simultaneously, orthogonal controllability of ωo and Q, and low active and passive sensitivities.
Abstract: A new voltage-mode universal biquadratic filter with one input and five outputs is presented. The new circuit uses one triple-output OTA, one dual-output OTA, three single-output OTAs and two grounded capacitors. This circuit offers the following features: high input impedance, realizing all the standard filter functions; lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch and allpass, simultaneously, orthogonal controllability of ωo and Q, and low active and passive sensitivities.

TL;DR: A hybrid supervisory control system using a recurrent fuzzy neural network (RFNN) is proposed to control the mover of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) servo drive for the tracking of periodic reference inputs.
Abstract: A hybrid supervisory control system using a recurrent fuzzy neural network (RFNN) is proposed to control the mover of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) servo drive for the tracking of periodic reference inputs. First, the field-oriented mechanism is applied to formulate the dynamic equation of the PMLSM. Then, a hybrid supervisory control system, which combines a supervisory control system and an intelligent control system, is proposed to control the mover of the PMLSM for periodic motion. The supervisory control law is designed based on the uncertainty bounds of the controlled system to stabilize the system states around a predefined bound region. Since the supervisory control law will induce excessive and chattering control effort, the intelligent control system is introduced to smooth and reduce the control effort when the system states are inside the predefined bound region. In the intelligent control system, the RFNN control is the main tracking controller which is used to mimic a idea control law and a compensated control is proposed to compensate the difference between the idea control law and the RFNN control. The RFNN has the merits of fuzzy inference, dynamic mapping and fast convergence speed, In addition, an online parameter training methodology, which is derived using the Lyapunov stability theorem and the gradient descent method, is proposed to increase the learning capability of the RFNN. The proposed hybrid supervisory control system using RFNN can track various periodic reference inputs effectively with robust control performance.

TL;DR: In this article, two new calcium and strontium metal-organic frameworks [Ca(SBA)] (CYCU-1) and [Sr[SBA]-(CyCU-2) were prepared by microwave-assisted reactions.
Abstract: Two new calcium and strontium metal–organic frameworks [Ca(SBA)] (CYCU-1) and [Sr(SBA)] (CYCU-2) were prepared by microwave-assisted reactions. Both rigid frameworks are thermally stable up to about 450 °C. As verified by N2, CO2, and H2sorption measurements, the thermally activated CYCU-1 and CYCU-2 exhibit significant microporosity.
