TL;DR: The primary hypothesis that hypnosis is an effective treatment for weight loss was confirmed, but the seven concomitant variables and the use of audiotapes were not significant contributors to weight loss.
Abstract: This study investigated the effects of hypnosis as a treatment for weight loss among women. The sample consisted of 60 women between the ages of 20 and 65 who were at least 20% overweight and were not in any other treatment program. Six client variables (suggestibility, self-concept, quality of family origin, age of obesity onset, education level, and socioeconomic status) and one process variable (multi-modal imagery) were analyzed in relation to the dependent variable (weight loss). Two experimental groups, hypnosis plus audiotapes (Hy-T) and hypnosis without audiotapes (Hy), and the control group (Cont) were investigated for weight loss immediately after treatment and again after a 6-month follow-up. The primary hypothesis that hypnosis is an effective treatment for weight loss was confirmed, but the seven concomitant variables and the use of audiotapes were not significant contributors to weight loss.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a barrier which is extensibly deployed from a vehicle and which includes at least three coils of barbed tape supported and spaced from one another with an upper coil located above two lower coils.
Abstract: A barrier which is extensibly deployed from a vehicle and which includes at least three coils of barbed tape supported and spaced from one another with an upper coil located above two lower coils. The coils are spaced parallel from one another, and are supported, by transverse rods located along the respective lengths of the coils. Each coil is a plurality of short coils which are interconnected in axial alignment in head-to-tail relation, with adjacent short coils having oppositely directed senses of rotation to counterbalance any net rotational forces produced by each short coil.

TL;DR: In this article, a mold for an improved press-on bottle cap is described, which has a top disk and a thin-walled outer skirt dependent therefrom with an annular tear score line on its inside wall and a laterally projecting tear tab which permits the cap to divide into a lower portion an upper reclosure cap.
Abstract: A mold to manufacture an improved press-on bottle cap is disclosed. The cap has a top disk and a thin-walled outer skirt dependent therefrom with an annular tear score line on its inside wall and a laterally projecting tear tab which permit the cap to divide into a lower portion an upper reclosure cap. An annular lip is provided about the outside wall of the cap, approximately in the middle of the reclosure cap. The lip is discontinuous with an open sector above the tear tab. The mold has its parting line in the plane of the annular lip and the lower half of the mold has a lateral cavity to form the tear tab. In this manner, a laterally offset tear tab is provided without splitting the mold cavity along an axial plane.
