TL;DR: This study examined the effects of bilateral 6-hydroxydopamine lesions of the VTA on the contents of the cholecystokinin octapeptide-like immunoreactivity (CCK 8) and DA in the anterior cerebral cortex, the nucleus accumbens and the anterior part of the striatum to confirm the presence of a composite VTA-nucleus accumben CCK 8-DA pathway.

TL;DR: The relationship between fracture toughness and the areal density of diblock copolymer at the interface was investigated for joints between polypropylene (PP) and polyamide-6 (PA6), two incompatible, semicrystalline polymers as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The relationship between the fracture toughness (Gc) and the areal density of diblock copolymer at the interface (Σ) was investigated for joints between polypropylene (PP) and polyamide-6 (PA6), two incompatible, semicrystalline polymers. Diblock copolymers were formed in situ by reaction between succinic acid groups terminally grafted onto 5% of the PP chains and the NH2 ends of the PA6 chains. Fracture toughnesses were measured using an asymmetric double cantilever beam test (ADCB). After the bulk PA6 had been completely rinsed from an adhered sample, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was used to measure the areal density of copolymer at the interface. Above the melt temperature of PP, but below that of PA6, reaction at the interface was limited by diffusion of the reactive PP chains (D = 1.58 × 10-11 cm2 s-1 at 213 °C). By controlling the temperature and the time of formation, Gc could be varied in the range from 5 to 100 J/m2. Dissipation during fracture was observed to occur by plastic deformati...

TL;DR: It is demonstrated in rats that acute increases in dopamine transmission in this site by local injections of Amphetamine inhibit the known locomotor‐activating effects of amphetamine in the nucleus accumbens (N.Acc), and suggested that it is acting at D‐1 dopamine receptors in this sites.
Abstract: The possibility that the dopaminergic neurons innervating the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) can inhibit locomotor behaviour has been suggested in several studies. The evidence remains indirect, however, because the manipulations tested aimed exclusively at permanently depleting mPFC dopamine. Here we demonstrate in rats that acute increases in dopamine transmission in this site by local injections of amphetamine inhibit the known locomotor-activating effects of amphetamine in the nucleus accumbens (N.Acc.). Further, intra-mPFC injections of the D-1 dopamine receptor antagonist SCH-23390, but not other dopamine antagonists with greater affinities for noradrenergic, serotonergic and D-2 dopamine receptors, enhanced the locomotion induced by intra-N.Acc. amphetamine. These findings provide direct evidence for the inhibition of locomotor activity by mPFC dopamine and suggest that it is acting at D-1 dopamine receptors in this site.

TL;DR: There is a clear difference in histological tissue types, and hence in growth regimes and rates, between pseudosuchian and ornithosuchians, which extends back to the separation of these two archosaurian lineages at least by the Middle Triassic.
Abstract: The long bone histology of some major groups of extinct Triassic crocodile relatives (phytosaurs, aetosaurs, poposaurs) is generally similar to that of living and fossil crocodylomorphs. Early deposition of more or less fibro-lamellar, fast-growing tissue gives way to cycles of deposition of a layer of less well-vascularized, predominantly parallel-fibered bone, followed by an annulus of nearly avascular bone and a line of arrested growth (LAG). These cycles, forming the so-called lamellar-zonal pattern of bone tissue suggesting slow growth, differ from the situation in most ornithosuchians (pterosaurs and dinosaurs), in which the pattern is generally that of fast-growing fibro-lamellar tissue throughout, that may become less vascular and eventually avascular only as full size is reached. LAGs are common, but annuli are not. Although the pseudosuchian pattern is presumed primitive for archosaurs, erythrosuchians (non-archosaurian Archosauriformes) apparently grew much like dinosaurs did, so the pseudosuchian pattern may not necessarily be primitive for Archosauriformes. Moreover, the histological patterns of the basal crocodylomorph Terrestrisuchus suggest elevated growth rates compared to typical crocodiles, though not as high as those of dinosaurs and pterosaurs. In general, there is a clear difference in histological tissue types, and hence in growth regimes and rates, between pseudosuchians and ornithosuchians, which extends back to the separation of these two archosaurian lineages at least by the Middle Triassic.
