TL;DR: In this paper, a sliding mode controller (SMC) is designed to compensate uncertain coupling effect and external disturbances during scan phase, where the dynamic equations of motion are formulated with the assumption that the seeker system is a rigid body with no mass imbalance.
Abstract: This paper presents robust control of seeker system used in missile target scanning and tracking. The mathematical model for seeker system is considered. A sliding mode controller (SMC) is designed to compensate uncertain coupling effect and external disturbances during scan phase. The model of the plant is based on first-principle method. The dynamic equations of motion are formulated with the assumption that the seeker system is a rigid body with no mass imbalance. These equations of motion are considered in cascade with DC motor equations which provides the actuating torque to the gimbal axes of the seeker system. The performance of the controller is validated in simulations.

TL;DR: A novel method of Handwritten Character Recognition with Shape and Texture features has been proposed and does not need the Preprocessing and Character Tokenization.
Abstract: Several ways to generalize the Devanagari handwritten character recognition have been proposed in the past. In this paper, novel method of Handwritten Character Recognition with Shape and Texture features has been proposed. The method proposed here does not need the Preprocessing and Character Tokenization. The Shape features and Texture feature are more unique, so a novel technique based on combination of these is derived and proposed here. For extracting shape features standard gradient operator such as Robert, Prewitt, Sobel, Canny and Laplace are used and for texture feature vector quantization technique. The gradient mask images of the character images are obtained and then LBG vector quantization algorithm is applied on these gradient images to get the codebooks of various sizes. These obtained LBG codebooks are considered as shape texture feature vectors for handwritten character recognition. In all 40 variations of the character recognition method are proposed using five gradient operators and 9 code book sizes (from 4 to 1024). For experimentation the database having 72 images from 6 samples per character with 12 different characters is used. The crossover point of precision and recall is considered as performance comparison criteria for proposed character recognition techniques. The best performance is observed in LBG for codebook size 8 of Sobel operator and the next best is seen for codebook sizes 8 and 16 of Prewitt and Laplace gradient mask for feature extraction.

TL;DR: In this article, three remote sensing techniques, including Image Differencing, Principal Component Analysis and Change Vector Analysis, were used to detect the changes in the study area and the efficiency of these method in study area were compared using post classification method and carry out accuracy assessment.
Abstract: Change detection implies quantifying temporal effects using multi temporal dataset. The Remote sensing data has become a heart of change detection technique because of its high temporal frequency, digital computation, synoptic view and wider selection of spatial and spectral resolution. The general objectives of change detection in remote sensing include recognizing the geographical location and type of changes, quantifying the changes, and assessing the accuracy of change detection results. In this paper analyses the various change detection techniques using satellite images. Three remote sensing techniques, including Image Differencing, Principal Component Analysis and Change Vector Analysis used to detect the changes. To carry out these techniques, Landsat8 satellite images were used to recognize changes in study area. The efficiency of these method in study area were compared using post classification method and carry out accuracy assessment. The results shows that change vector analysis perform better for change detection to other methods.

TL;DR: In this paper, the MPP Incremental conductance (IC) algorithm was used to track PV system's MPP with better and efficient output compared to the non MPPT system.
Abstract: To utilize the maximum amount of solar energy application of maximum power point tracking must be employed in PV systems. The trait of a solar cell is non-linear in nature. The intensity of the solar radiation falling on the earth surface relies on various parameters like clouds, water vapor, pollution, absorption, scattering and in climatic factors. A PV system without MPPT hardly produces maximum power, which also changes the Maximum Power Point of PV system with respect to a particular environmental condition which ultimately leads to low power. In order to track PV system's MPP Incremental conductance (IC) algorithm provides higher steady-state accuracy with better and efficient output compared to the non MPPT system. Various results of simulation are conferred here.

TL;DR: In this chapter, the basic principle of block matching motion estimation and compensation is introduced and fast motion search algorithms are addressed.
Abstract: A video sequence typically contains temporal redundancy; that is, two successive pictures are often very similar except for changes induced by object movement, illumination, camera movement, and so on. Motion estimation and compensation are used to reduce this type of redundancy in moving pictures. The block-matching algorithm (BMA) for motion estimation has proved to be very efficient in terms of quality and bit rate; therefore, it has been adopted by many standard video encoders. In this chapter, the basic principle of block matching motion estimation and compensation is introduced and fast motion search algorithms are addressed.
