Abstract: A polymer composite patched specimen, made of a thin skin of aluminum alloy 6061-T6 and a patch consisting of a main load bearing ply of CFRP and a thin ply of GFRP, was tested for its strength under quasi-static tensile loading. The crack in the skin with a very sharp crack tip was not observed to grow during the testing. The failure was caused by the separation of the patch from the skin. For small sized patches, the separation initiated at the crack edges, grew with the increasing applied load and caused the complete separation. However, when the size of the patch was increased in length-wise direction or width-wise, the growth of the separation, initiated at the crack edge, was suppressed substantially. A stage was reached when separation was also initiated at the leading edges of the patch that grew at much faster rate to cause the complete separation with further increase in the applied load. The results of this study suggest that the patch size should be large enough to cause the separation-initiation at the leading edges also.

01 Feb 2020TL;DR: This methodology is an efficient mechanism for extracting fetal ECG signal, non-invasively taken from abdominal ECG, by using independent component analysis (ICA) and adaptive filtering technique.
Abstract: Fetal Electrocardiogram (fECG) is used for continuously monitor the fetal cardiac health condition. fECG signal extracted from abdominal signal (AECG) of pregnant woman is very helpful diagnosis methodology for evaluating health condition of fetus. Abdominal ECG signal contains different interference signal. The interference include Maternal Electrocardiogram (mECG), base line wandering artifact, maternal electromyogram (EMG) signal interference, power line interference and random electronic noises. In this paper we proposed a methodology for removing and filtering these artifact by using independent component analysis (ICA) and adaptive filtering technique. This methodology is an efficient mechanism for extracting fetal ECG signal, non-invasively taken from abdominal ECG. ICA method have relatively high SNR and it is nonparametric. The observed result shows proposed method is useful for calculating fECG.

01 Jul 2013TL;DR: It is recommended that adopting and implementing open source applications following international standards can be considered as a good replacement to the conventional algorithms to offer more enhancement security techniques and highest performance encryption algorithms for e-banking transaction services.
Abstract: Security and the privacy features concerning e-banking needs to be improved rapidly to continue its growing. It is really difficult to ensure enough adequate security by using the conventional algorithms for a long time period, due to recent advances such as high progress in cryptanalysis techniques, improvement of computing skills and continuous hacking trials. This paper refers important issues regarding how to enhance the transition to more secure cryptographic and encryption algorithms in the financial sector. This paper recommends that adopting and implementing open source applications following international standards can be considered as a good replacement to the conventional algorithms to offer more enhancement security techniques and highest performance encryption algorithms for e-banking transaction services. We proposed a modified algorithm for AES, in which substitute byte, shift row will remain as in the original AES while mix column operation is replaced by 128 permutation operation followed by add round key operation. Comparative study with traditional encryption algorithms is shown the superiority of the modified algorithm and its high ability to overcome the problem of computational overhead. We additionally suggested another level of e-banking security services using Confidence Building Metric (CBM). The CBMs are computed based on certain parameters and can be implemented on any platform at the client side.
