TL;DR: In this article, the four-node quadrilateral element having seven degrees of freedom per node, developed earlier by the second author and his coworkers, is modified for free vibration analysis of functionally graded material (FGM) plates under uniform and linear thermal environment.
Abstract: In this work, the four-node quadrilateral element having seven degrees of freedom per node, developed earlier by the second author and his coworkers, is modified for free vibration analysis of functionally graded material (FGM) plates under uniform and linear thermal environment. The performance of the modified element is assessed by comparing the present results of the non-dimensionalized natural frequencies with the available analytical results as well as with 2D finite element results obtained using the commercial software ANSYS. It is observed that the performance of the present element is quite satisfactory for the isotopic FGM plates under uniform and linear thermal environment considered in this study with all edges simply supported as well as with all edges clamped boundary conditions.

TL;DR: Derived design equation is used to design double sided linear induction motor (DSLIM), 12 meter in length in this paper, and 3D Maxwell software isUsed to analyze this motor at no-load condition.
Abstract: Application of linear electric machine has been increased in recent due to automation of the manufacturing industry, fast transport systems and various defence applications. These machines performance is superior to their rotary counterpart in various specialized applications. So it is necessary to derive the generic equations for designing of linear electric machines. Among different linear electric motors, linear induction motors (LIM) have been widely used due to their simplicity and low construction cost.During design stage of these LIM, it has been observed by the authors that basic design equations of rotary induction motors (RIM) are commonly used. Though the Equations of RIM can be used for design of LIM, but it does not gives a true flavor of LIM. Further, many specialized softwares for designing and analyzing require basic dimensions. These generic design equations of linear induction motor are derived and converted by referring conventional rotary induction motor in this paper. The simple design equation of LIM separates out basic dimensions of like length and width. The end effect and Edge effects are neglected in this study. Derived design equation is used to design double sided linear induction motor (DSLIM), 12 meter in length in this paper. Also 3D Maxwell software is used to analyze this motor at no-load condition.

TL;DR: In this article, a small-signal circuit modeling for pulse width modulated dc-dc converter operated in continuous conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous conduction modes (DCM) is presented Various aspects of modeling is discussed and then averaged modeling of PWM converter is selected.
Abstract: In this paper, a small-signal circuit modeling for pulse width modulated dc-dc converter operated in continuous conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) are presented Various aspects of modeling is discussed and then averaged modeling of PWM converter is selected A duty ratio constraint (which comes in DCM), defines the diode conduction interval which is key to accurate prediction of high frequency behavior Linear as well as nonlinear control strategies are implemented and their results are compared Nonlinear control is preferred approach because no constrain on the signal variation around the steady state point The proposed model and control strategies are implemented on buck converter Simulation results have been shown for both the control strategies
